Last weekend Josh and I went to Tahoe to celebrate Anne's birthday! It was a quick trip but our very first away from all three kids. We left nana and papa instructions on who had games and practice where and when, who sleeps when, etc., and left Owen screaming my name. Ugh.
It was a beautiful weekend and we met some really cool people, drank, ate, laughed, enjoyed some adult time and time with Anne and Noah who surprisingly we never get to see!
Meanwhile, back at the homestead nana and papa had their hands full and then even more full after my dad tripped playing hockey with Ryan and basically split his forehead open and was taken to the ER via ambulance. I have never felt so terrible, so far away and so helpless because I couldn't be there. My mom was fucking amazing. That's all I can say. And my dad was unbelievably patient and understanding as he was recovering from 27 stitches (just on the outside) in my chaotic house. Emmy was a mess, Owen a disaster - my parents were troopers and were shockingly talking about "next time". HA!
Edgewood
I love seeing sand against mountains :)
Emerald Bay
Highlight of the trip - snowshoeing!
Of course Josh was in shorts. haha
View from Garwoods. Josh and I ate here over a decade ago before Emmy was born. Holy shit I am getting old.
A fun St. Patty's Day band in South Lake
Beer in a bubble!
Meanwhile....
This is the only picture that doesn't make me want to pass out. My poor dad :(
