Mmmmm

Well it is any surprise that Ryan loves to eat already?!  If he enjoys rice cereal this much I can only imagine how much he is going to love real food.  And I can only imagine how big this kid is going to get!!  A few pics from his first meal.

12 seconds

Our debate over whether or not Josh can run 100 meters in less than 15 seconds has been going on since the Olympics.  I was convinced it was not possible but I got a big fat I told you so over xmas!  Josh and Marc measured it out and 3 of us timed it (just to be sure you know!).  Not only did he run it in under 15 seconds, he ran it in 12, damn!  Of course the video is hard to see, but you can hear him huffing as he runs by.  Ahahah.

Merry Christmas!

Hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas this year!  I know we sure did!  We spent Christmas at Westlake with my parents, celebrating with all the traditions we've always had.  Mom did an amazing job decorating, cooking and getting Christmas ready!  Emmy was constantly entertained by everyone (especially Uncle Marc) and I had plenty of people to help get Ryan to sleep since that is pretty much a hobby of mine now.  It was great to spend time with all the family since it doesn't happen too often anymore.  I can't believe how quickly the holidays have gone by!  Almost the start of a new year....

Thank you to my family for all your help with the kiddos this week and for your patience with me who hasn't had much sleep these days.  All I wanted for Christmas was a nap and you all made it happen :)

Making gingerbread houses (well graham cracker houses).  Josh and Julie were really the masterminds behind them, Emmy just ate the candy :)

A little Papa time

Hanging with Uncle Marc

We started feeding the chunker rice cereal.  I was hesitant at first since he is still so young and given his current "healthy" size but the doctor suggested it.  I will have a whole other post dedicated to his eating.  As you can imagine, we haven't had any issues other than having to watch he doesn't eat too much.

Christmas morning.  Someone was a little excited!!

Up to their same old antics.  Just being weird and crazy!

Couldn't be any cuter if they tried.

Finally a good family pic!

Cool dude with his Auntie Julie

A little Canadian, family tradition.  He wasn't too amused!

Emmy helped Marc build fires all week.  Oh and eat lots of candy that they both kept sneaking... I caught Emmy singing a song about how much she loved candy and Uncle Marc.

Marc bought him this onesie so they'd have the same shirt!

20 POUNDS

Ryan went for his 4 month check-up this week and weighed in a 20 lb 4oz and 26.5"!  That is the average size of a 12 month old.  Man he is big!  All the more to love :)

Nutcracker

Emmy and I, Anna and Ava went to the Nutcracker in Balboa Park on Sunday!  I bought Emmy a super fancy Christmas dress and shoes that I gave to her to wear.  I buy her a fancy Christmas dress every year even though we just hang out at my parent's house and we all wear slippers.  She loves it and yes I feed into her fanciness :)

Yes, she knows she is fancy!

Such a beauty

A little horsey ride after the show :)

4 months old

I can't believe my handsome little buddy is already 4 months old!  I love every bit of him, we are very attached.  I admit I am just as attached to him and he is to me.  Hanging out with my bud these past 4 months has been priceless.  I am so lucky to have been able to take so much time off of work.  I am making a very conscious effort to continue to enjoy every minute of every day and not think about the dreaded day I head back to work....

Anyway, enough about my sorrows back to my little dude!  He is the cutest and obviously the biggest 4 month old ever!  He stares at me all day and every time I look at him he smiles or laughs.  And he loves when I sing.  So you can imagine how I spend my days, not doing much else but smiling with him!  He can almost sit by himself the rolls around his waist pretty much keep him up.  He loves his blanket, giraffe and elephant that hangs from his car seat (which by the way he is almost too big for!).  He goes NUTS for books and magazines.  I mean just about jumps out of my lap it is hilarious.  He is so strong and loves being on his tummy I am sure he'll be an early crawler unlike Emmy who just sat forever.  He LOVES his sister.  She is the first to go in his room every morning and he is all smiles.  They are so cute together.  I love watching him in the mirror when we are driving in the car as he just quietly looks out the window or when he stares at me when we take a walk.  The little bugger still only naps 30 minutes at a time and has been a devil at nighttime.  He wakes up pretty much every 20 minutes from 6:30 - 10:30 every night, it has been pretty brutal.  Then is I am lucky he will only wake up 1-2 times until the morning.  Yes, I am pretty tired!

I never imagined how quickly I'd fall completely in love with the little guy and how amazing it is to watch him already interact with Emmy.  The other day Emmy was reading him a book as he was trying to grab it and she was just laughing away.  It was one of those moments I was able to sit back and watch and will never forget.  Having kids is the best.  Now I just need to convince Josh that we may need just one more... ;)

His legs barely fit in the bumbo!

Can he be any bigger?!

I have been putting him in the carrier a lot and he is finally starting to like it!  He actually fell asleep in it at the xmas parade.

This is what I look at when I carry him around in the carrier.  Is that not the cutest!  I love it!  He puts his arms around me like he is holding on :)

I love this picture.  Mohawk, toes and blocks :)

Look how much fun he is having with his sister!

How we spend a lot of our afternoons.  Snuggling on the couch, holding my hand

The absolute loves of my life.
