The last week as Four

As of Monday, I was officially on maternity leave! I spent the week organizing, running around town and spending time with each of my loves. Emmy and I went to lunch on Wednesday and to the beach, Josh and I even squeezed in lunch on Thursday and Josh and I took Ryan to lunch on Friday and to the bay to ride his bike with NO TRAINING WHEELS! The weather has been perfect so we've been spending a lot of time outside. It is supposed to stay sunny too which is amazing :)

I think we've all been a little nervous, anxious and excited for this week. Can't wait to meet little Owen and bring him home to the family :)

We've been pulling out all the baby stuff from the garage. When I say I kept everything, I mean EVERYTHING!

They look like dumb and dumber. Ha!

Toys, toys and more toys

Me and Emmy went to lunch in La Jolla on Wednesday. Georges at the Cove - her choice!

The day could not have been more beautiful

Of course we had to visit the seals.

Headed down to the sand too. It is amazing how much time I have to actually "smell the roses" or "visit the seals" when I am not squeezing a busy work week into my life...

How is she growing up so fast?!

A little lunch at buddies favorite place - the fish shop.

Ryan wanted to ride his bike at the bay with no training wheels. i swear he hopped on his bike and took off and has been riding ever since. It was truly amazing!!

Last belly pic (wearing the last outfit that fits me!)

Today we met up with Riley and Reese at the park to play with Emmy's wubble bubble ball :)

Oh Sadie girl. Just chilling in her new favorite spot

We headed into PB for dinner tonight. Me and my beauty

Buddy looking extra handsome and extra big!

The fearsome foursome is becoming the fearsome fivesome in just a few days!

my little yogi

Emmy started taking yoga after school on Mondays a few months ago. I think she's been about  times and of course is already mastering a headstand. She just continues to amaze me :) I can't wait to take a class with her!

Little League Opening Day 2017

Today was Ryan's first tee ball game and he could not have been more excited! The countdown to game day started last weekend. I heard a door slam at 4a and knew exactly what he was doing - putting on his uniform. Ha! I had to explain dark = nighttime. He was still raring to go by 7am. They had a big opening day parade and ceremony with a marching band. This little league stuff is no joke. Watching the game was just about the cutest thing I've ever seen - I loved every minute of it. A bunch of Emmy's friends from school were around - boys from her class and younger brothers of her friends. I really felt part of a community and it makes me so happy to think that Ryan will know so many little boys going to kindergarten.

He played awesome and had a ton of fun. Josh is one of the assistant coaches so was right there with him. Not sure who loved it more. Looking forward to many games to come :)

Walking in the parade

Hard to capture but there were a ton of teams!

Emmy and Audrey :) Audrey's brother plays on a different team so they will play each other a few times this season. These girls cruised around the park like they owned the joint, can only imagine what they will be getting into in years to come...

Game time!

Emmy and Mikaela cheering for their bros. Who also happen to live around the corner from us :)

He nailed it like this every time!

First run home.

First base. I was actually amazed at how they all knew the rules and what to do (generally ;) )

Good game high fives

After game snow cones which I am sure will become a tradition.

week long birthday celebration

We continued to celebrate emmy's birthday all week! She was quite the b-day diva and reminded me every day that daddy was gone and missed her bday :( Well, we more than made up for it! Dinner at Woodstock on her bday and a painting party with all her buddies on Saturday. So much fun!!

Presents galore!

Including lots of earrings :)

Where is Waldo?!

Cupcakes before dinner are the best!

She has literally mastered the stupid claw game. Came home with THREE MORE!

Me and my monkey

The girls (Taylor, Seagrin, Ava, Mikaela, Audrey, Madison and Riley) eating pizza

I found a company who sends artists to the house to walk the kids (or adults) how to paint a pre-selected picture. It was so cool! All they needed was some wine. haha

Until next year... :)

And just like that - she is 8

Happiest birthday to my big 8 year old. How is Emmy already 8?! She is so full of personality and turning into a big girl before our eyes. She is smart, funny, stubborn, strong, loves to eat, is sweet, beautiful and is always having fun. This year seems extra special to me as our family grows again. She will always be my first baby and now my only daughter, a special bond I hope we have forever. Despite her comments about wanting a sister or having to deal with another brother (followed by an ugh) I think she’s caught onto the fact that there are many times it’ll be just us girls a lot over the years :) “You are my monkey, my only monkey you make me happy when skies are blue. You’ll never know just how much I love you….”
