Palm Springs - Round Two

After 11 weeks straight of being stuck at home doing school virtually and working in our sweat pants - we desperately needed a change of scenery so we booked another house in Palm Springs! Naturally, we weren't the only ones with this bright idea so houses were in high demand and over priced but hell - you only (hopefully) live through a global pandemic once in your lifetime, right?! We pondered over houses for weeks and finally picked an awesome one - and we had a blast! BUT it wouldn't be a true Lawrence family adventure without a few hiccups, right?

After we connected with the property manager to figure out how to get internet connection (pretty vital for school zooms and of course netflix), got the pool heater turned on and Owen got over the 24 hour stomach flu (why is violently throwing up a theme of our vacations these days?!) it was smooth sailing!

Nothing makes me happier than spending time with my family - even if it is forced time :) I don't think I realize how distracted I am with work until I am finally able to put it down. I love playing games, going on adventures, snuggling and just doing nothing. I cherish these moments like I never have before.

We swam, played a lot of sequence, at a lot of Halloween candy and went on some cool hikes!

A new zoom background for school!

Snuggles before a rough night

Poor little Owen looking not so hot. This sort of sums of their personalities these days

An even better zoom background :)

Sleeping off the flu

Sadie really knows how to vacation!

The largest natural palm tree oasis in the world :)

The kids really loved all of the rocks to climb on

Trying to work on my attitude, its been a rough few months...

ALWAYs doing handstands

This is for my mom. Hahaha

The pool was finally warm! Wahoo!

Sadie pretending like she was playing the game. Ha!

Slime making kits to the rescue!

We got a little ambitious with a "moderate" hike

It was pretty tough! Owen was a trooper

This kid LOVES to surf. He was getting "barreled" in the pool

Always my co-pilot

That is a tween right there

That's a wrap! Until the next adventure...

COVID Halloween

We had a surprisingly "normal" Halloween this year. The Halloween spirit store was surprisingly still open this year and Owen got to dress up for school. We still got together on the Conklins on their driveway like we do every year with their two neighbors who we always trick-or-treat with. Their immediate neighbors actually approached them about having kids come for candy so Erin organized with 12 houses on their cul-de-sac for the kids to trick-or-treat. Ground rules for set, which varied for each house, and the kids got to hit up each house twice! It actually felt really normal and we all had a blast.

He was so excited to dress up for school!

Owen and his class at school :)

My inner pinterest came out and we organized some snacks and dessert for the party

We decorated about 40 cupcakes. Haha. At least it kept everyone entertained.

Owen's masterpiece

Owen insisted on dressing like Ryan and wanted to be a police officer. What the hell let the kid have some fun, right? So he got two costumes this  year :)

I usually hate dressing up, unless I am coordinated with me kids ;)

Social distanced candy

The crew

Emmy created a masterpiece with her cupcake. This girl is so creative!

We ended up with more candy than we usually have!

The next morning we went on a new hike and Owen insisted on wearing his police hat. Ha!
