Our much-anticipated trip to Toronto was finally here! We had been planning and talking about it for so long; we were all so excited to get on that plane! And then sit for 2 hours on the runway. Thank goodness for TVs (which we never get to experience on Southwest) because we all watched movies and played games for the 6.5 hours and the kids were complete angels! After we arrived, we took the train into the city which was fun for the kids. After a long day we crashed in our SUPER cool condo on the 57th floor and got ready to see all the family and for days full of walking, eating, drinking, laughs and adventures!
Everyone packed up and ready to go - even baby!
We arrived to this beautiful view! :)
We headed out for a walk and returned back 6 hours later - ha!
We checked out the harbor...
Stopped at Tim Hortons so I could introduce the kids to real donuts, including my favorite - chocolate-glazed Tim Bits!
Checked out Rogers Center and bought hats before the big game
We walked everywhere and had fun along the way!
Happy Hour before the big game
What a cool stadium!
The boys were so excited to be there, and Josh got us amazing seats.
Look - it's mini Matt!
These two screamed at the played the whole game to give them a ball. Ever the crowds around us started telling "give the kid a call, he's wearing a full uniform"! Hahaha
These three had a special bond from the beginning
Well, no players threw him a ball but a nice couple who caught one gave it to Owie :)
It was a really special night and a great way to kick off the week!
Day 2 - more walking!
To the St. Lawrence Market :)
Julie, Dan and Ronan met us and Owen was ecstatic to spend time with Ronan.
Then we went to the Illusion museum - it was really cool!
A quick shower and on to the rehearsal dinner!
Emmy photo bombing!
We decided to walk the 1.5 miles home so made a bit stop - super pretty at night! It really did feel so good to be in Toronto. It feels familiar even though we didn't spend a lot of time in the city when I grew up, but there was something about being there with family and my family that made it feels so much like home.
The next day we took the Ferry to the island. Boy did they pack us in there! It wasn't the safest feeling situation, but at least they had life jackets?!
Toronto Island was one of the beautiful places I've been in a while - the trees and flowers and views! My pictures did not do it justice.
Everyone was planning on swimming but the water was FREEZING!
I have vivid memories of these swans from when I was little so had to take a picture :)
A little roller coaster action - Ryan was so excited!
As was Owen
We took a water taxi back - worth the extra $ for this view :)
They've never swam in an indoor pool before!
Marc/Kristin and Julie/Dan came over to dinner - the boys headed to Longos for snacks and Marc came back with all kinds of great finds like Crispers!
Josh checking out the sunset. He isn't usually a city guy, but I can tell he fell in love with Toronto...
Photo bombing again!
