Fall Playoffs

Last weekend was a crazy busy but super fun weekend full of sports! Josh headed out of town for work last week and then was able to make a trip out of it and go and see his mom. They had a great time together in Yosemite. So I was in SD holding down the fort.

Thursday the kids were off of school for Veteran's Day so they had some friends over. There were a total of 7 of them and I don't think the trampoline has gotten that much use in months! I scrambled around Friday getting the kids out the door early for a presentation I had to give, fortunately before Owen came home from school sick and I grabbed some food from the store to prepare for the weekend ahead....

Saturday morning started at 9a with Owen's last soccer game. He scored 2 goals, one with his left foot! The little man aggressively ran around the field like a boss! He was very excited to get his first trophy :)

At 10:30a Ryan had his last lacrosse scrimmage. Since he was leaving early to head to a baseball game he was lacrosse on top and baseball on the bottom. Ha!

We raced over to the field for his 11:30a playoff game for baseball. His team hadn't won a game all season and only had 8 players so we have pretty low expectations for him moving on. But holy shit - they actually won!

Go Ryan!

We threw all out shit back in the back of the car and headed over to Emmy's playoff softball game. Her team has been winning almost every game so we had high expectations that they'd win. Well, it ended up being a SUPER close game and Emmy stole home to win the game!!

We made it home around 5p - put in 8 hours that day!

Sunday we headed out around 9a to get Emmy to her softball game. She played an unbelievable team, their pitching was the best any of us had ever seen. They ended up battling but lost 8-10 after Emmy had an amazing catch at Second! She left with Riley and we headed over to Ryan's semi-final game.

Again, Ryan's team wasn't expected to win the last game so certainly wasn't expected to come close to beating the undefeated team. Well, holy shit, his little scrappy team of 8 won, AGAIN! I know I am his mom and this is a bold statement but Ryan stole the show that game. Not only did he git two triples to score 6 of the runs, he came in as closing pitcher to keep the lead and win! Every person at the field was standing at the fence screaming as the bases were loaded and the only team was only down one run. I am still beaming with pride. Watching that kid keep his cool and pitch like a rockstar was unbelievable :)
Josh took an uber straight from the airport to catch the last game, which they lost but man what a day!

We made it home at 5p again so that was two 8 hour days of games. Well, that was a wrap to the end of a great Fall season of sports. Now onto one more baseball tournament, basketball and gymnastics!
