Vacation at the Cove

We just got back from an awesome week in Westlake!  Last Saturday we packed up BOTH cars and headed out of town. We couldn't fit all five of us, Sadie and our stuff in one car - ridiculous I know. In our defense, Josh was working a few days too ;) Owen and Sadie (after we gave her a sedative) slept the whole 3 1/2 hours. WAHOO! We spent 6 days in the sun, swimming in the pool and eating a lot of ice cream and Popsicles. and being spoiled by my parents. It was the best. My mom, Owen, Emmy and I went shopping one day while the guys hit up the batting cages. Then my mom walked Owen around the promonade while Emmy, Ryan and I watched Cars 3. It was one of the best cars movies, in my opinion. Of course Westlake's theater is a Cinapolis so we ordered snacks and lunch from our seats. Spent a fortune but it was worth it :)

Thursday was time to head home :( Josh continued north to spent some important, quality time with his family and I packed up the car and me and the kids headed home. Sadie had an extended vacation and nana and papas and Josh picked her back up on the way home. Thank God she wasn't with us - Owen screamed so much in the car we had to pull over before we hit back LA traffic. After Owen puked in the middle of Ventura Blvd, we took a nice little stroll in our jammies down the street a few blocks, made a quick wrong turn onto the wrong freeway, but we finally made it home at midnight. Never a dull moment! :)

Time to pack up and head home....

Owen is 3 Months Old!

My littlest man is 3 months old today! He is so happy, cute, chubby and I could not love him more. He is so happy, chatty and expressive that it is hard to do anything but play with him and stare at him all day and he likes to do the same. We have another mamas boy on our hands, which is fine by me :) A few things at 3 months.

Nicknames - O-man, little O and Boo. Not sure which one will stick

Sleeping - he isn't. Ugh. He is still waking up 2-3 times a night which means he is sleeping 3-4 hour stretches. I looked back at old posts and at 3 months Ryan was sleeping 6-7 hours and Emmy 9-10. Seriously?! Naps aren't much better. He is averaging 45 minute naps unless he is in the swing or carrier.

Self soothing - hasn't happened yet. He tries sooooo hard to suck on his thumb and fingers but hasn't been able to do it yet. He gets so pissed when his hands fall out of his mouth. I try every day to get him to suck SOMETHING!

Eating - All the time! And still refuses a bottle.

Tummy time - HATES it!

He loves - Music (indie folk revival station on Pandora is his favorite), books (He is really into chicka chicka boom boom), Sadie (even though she kisses his face and I am pretty sure her tongue has gone in his mouth a few times), the kids (his face lights up when they walk in the room), his play mat (he can whack those toys!) and the bath!

Haha, all this makes him sound like the worst baby but he is the best!  He is so happy and smiles and coos every time you look at him. He's even starting to change the inflection in his voice to match ours. He gives me kisses on my cheek (maybe he is trying to latch onto my face but it sure feels like a kiss).  I just love being a mom to a new born again, I feel complete.

Boo at 3 months!!

Sadie loves to snuggle next to him and if he cries she gets really upset. It's really sweet.

We got him a gray baba just like Emmy and Ryan 

EVERY time i leave the house Owen starts screaming 10 minutes after I leave. I am afraid Josh is going to start locking me up. Apparently the only way Josh can get him to calm down is to old him like this... ?

He loves books!

Me and him binged watched some sons of anarchy one afternoon. Just cause we could ;)

this is how i put him to bed. He can't suck his hands but he likes them right next to his face. Not sure how much longer i am going to be able to swaddle this chunker in a blanket.

I upped the tunny time and bought him a new mat!

 

Getting better. I think he will roll over soon just so he doesn't have to be on his tummy. Ha!
