The flu/chest cold took me down 10 days ago and it was miserable. Josh got it second followed by Emmy. I think even Sadie got a cold. Ryan miraculously remained healthy! We've had fevers, coughed non-stop and have consumed more cough medicine, soup and tea than I can keep track of and today I FINALLY feel like myself again (still coughing of course). Looking forward to some healthy times ahead. :)
Right when I was getting sick, I took the kids to Emmy's "trunk or treat" event at school. They blew threw candy in like 10 minutes but Emmy still got to hand with some friends. Including her new bestest buddy - Audrey.
The gang - Riley, Zana, Audrey and Michelle.
We all sucked it up and pulled it together to go to Ryan's open house and performance. He was soooo excited he was counting down the days and woke up Wednesday saying today is the big day!
Standard meeting spot before the open house - the fish shop with his buddies
The big nest performance
We love snuggle time!
Poor Emmy
At least she had some company
I swear even the dog got sick. She had runny/goopy eyes and her nose was all swollen. She looked pretty miserable :( Thank God for benedryl, everyone had some!
Of course her favorite pillows are the white ones...
We've been having lots of fun this month and we still have lots planned! Last week Josh and I got invited last minute to the Chargers Brocos game. We sat in a box (definitely the way to go) and the Chargers actually won so it was fun! Genesis, Daniel and the kids were in SD over the weekend so we were able to see them again! That is 3 times in the last 6 months, I think it is a record. The kids had a blast playing and we event met them at Sea World. Emmy went to gymnastics and her cupcake decorating class. Fun, fun, fun!
The boys had a killer game of Jenga. I can't believe how many blocks they pulled without it falling - even the little guys!
Making friendship bracelets
He pretends like she drives him nuts but..... I know he really loves her :)
is amazing! She is so happy these days and smart, strong, adventurous, confident and funny and making a lot of new friends and growing up so fast. I am having so much fun with her these days. She is such a tom boy but still has a girly side. For example, I caught her trying to scale a palm tree in our backyard wearing her converse and a pretty dress. She also put on lip stick (actually red marker) before dinner the other night and walked out as it we would not notice. Ha! She is making a lot of new friends at school (There are a ton of new girls who just moved to her school) and appears to be taking a leader roll, sticking up for friends and introducing them all around. She earned the most amount of points in her class for good behavior so gets to eat lunch with her teacher this week. (Josh's response was that is a reward?!) She has been a very good big sister to Ryan working on his letters with him. She is now taking gymnastics 2 days a week because she loves it so much. She is ALWAYS doing hand stands! She used to be very shy starting a new class where she didn't know anyone and now she jumps right in. She eats like a CHAMP sometimes it amazes me how much she can eat (I am trying to teach her about healthy choices) she is growing so fast and is so tall! Her newest obsession is the food channel. She watches it all the time and especially likes cake boss, chopped junior and all the halloween wars shows. Her and Riley are taking a cupcake decorating class on Saturday, she is so excited!
I felt the need to brag a little bit - she is truly amazing, everything I would want her to be and more - SO HAPPY!
She is constantly doing handstands. She must do a hundred a day - no joke. She does them up against the couch to see how long she can hold it.
All her practicing has paid off. She can now do a kick over. And the scenery isn't too shabby either :)
Yesterday she made us dessert. Chopped away for an hour. She called it her sailboat dessert (?) which included chopped up raspberries, strawberries, bell peppers, walnuts and chocolate chips garnished with cilantro. It actually wasn't too bad. Ryan yelled this is gross!
Doesn't everyone cook in their undies?
The final product.
We had some extra time this morning and when I came downstairs she was doing a cross word puzzle :)
as dog owners! I can't believe Sadie has been part of our family for a year. I have to admit it has been one of the most stressful years of my life... But I think we are finally getting to a point where we've decided she can stay. Haha.
Sadie is the sweetest, happiest, most friendly, excitable, crazy. energetic dog I have ever met.

This morning showing off her unusual quiet side. Her and Ryan love a good snuggle :)
