Last weekend

This post is over a week late. Better late than never!

Last weekend we met some friends from work at the bay. Lucky for us they all had paddle boards, kayaks, etc., that we were able to play with!  First time we touch our toes into that disgusting water. Thank goodness no one grew a 6^th toe.

To my surprise, Ryan even cruised out on a board. He fell in at one point (he hates getting his face wet) freaked out but survived. Emmy loved it, no surprise there.  She buddied up with my friend Reyna’s son and they were trouble.  It was so much!

It happened to also be the hottest weekend we’ve had so far this summer. Why not run another ½ marathon! Ugh. It was so miserably hot making for a very brutal 13 miles. I headed out the door at 4:45a to catch the bus to the start line. After waiting an hour at the start line we finally started running at 7a right when the sun started shining. It was downhill from there. I crossed the finish line 2 hours and 24 minutes later, soaking wet from sweat and the water I kept dumping on my head. I met Josh and the kids and swore I would never run another one again. Then yesterday I tackled 6.5 miles and already have the itch to do another :)
