You only turn one once!

Boy did we have a fun filled weekend celebrating Ryan's birthday!  We decided not to have a party.  Friends were out of town, one of us seems to always be sick and we thought it'd be fun to just have some good old fun family time.  So we partied all weekend long!  Saturday we headed down to the beach. These kids really are true California babes.  Blond, beautiful and love the sand, water, pretty much everything about the beach.  Sunday we headed to the zoo so Ryan could see some real animals up close.  After opening presents we played, ate pizza and of course cup cakes.  We had tons of fun!

We literally had to hold him back from the water.  It happens to be freezing right now too.  Didn't faze Baroo.

Sunday morning Emmy ran down stairs and yelled "happy birthday Bud!"  It was so cute.

Every time we saw something cool Ryan would say "wow".  Well, it was more like "wa" but I know what he was going for.

We pushed the double stroller around and I think they both were in it for like 5 minutes.  Emmy walked the whole zoo and I carried Ryan.  Yes, I got my workout for the week!

Checking out his new super cool lightening mcqueen car!  Emmy was also very good about helping him open his presents and understanding it was his day.  I actually bought her a little something and her response was "but it isn't my birthday".

After Emmy's 1st bday, we learned to keep the candles at a distance.

no hesitation.  It was as if he has been waiting 12 months to shove cake into his mouth.  It was in his mouth, all over his face and throughout his hair in 2.5 minutes!
