Is the weekend really over?

Two days is just never long enough....   We enjoyed the sunshine, played in the pool, did a whole lot of gardening, took our daily walk around the hood looking for "treasures" and ate a lot as always.  I think Ryan is eating more than Emmy it is crazy how much that kid eats!  He is a speedy crawler and is standing on his own more and more.  Uh oh....

Emmy is suck a stinker dumping water on Ryan's head!  Good thing it doesn't bother him in the least.

Look no hands!

Have you seen anything so sweet?

Happy Weekend

It is hard to believe but this past weekend was our first whole, normal weekend in our new house.  It was a beautiful weekend and we just hung around the house and played lots on the new grass :)  Anne, Noah, Finn and Sophia came for pizza Saturday and had a blast.  Ryan tried pizza for the first time and ate an entire slice of cheese pizza.  I think he may have eaten more than Emmy.  We had a nice little Fathers Day around the house, all Josh wanted to do was garden and watch golf.  Sure is easy to please.

Here are some pics from our very happy weekend.

Little guy is cruising all over the house like a drunk, stiff, old man with his walker

Someone to place kitchen with!

Sweet Sophia!

When did my beautiful girl become so grown up?

I am eating.  Don't bother me.

10 Months!

Dear Ryan,

I cannot believe you are already 10 months old!  I wish I could freeze time NOW.  You are so much fun these days, full of personality, noises, giggles and of course facial expressions.  You squeal at your sister, grunt for food and sound like darth vador pretty much all the time.  You have more facial expressions than anyone I know and constantly make everyone around you laugh and smile.

You are learning the word “no”.  You shake your head but then continue on anyway and smile back with the devilish smile of yours.

You love to eat, I mean LOVE to eat.  Fruit, veggies, meat, salmon, French toast, dirt, grass.  You name it and you will eat it.

You know your “dada”, “mmay” and of course your “mama”, every time you say my name and reach your arms up, my heart melts. You crawl across the room to me muttering “mama, mama” and I love it every time.

You love to play with the play kitchen and all the plastic veggies, any sort of balls and cars but your favorite toy is one of the plastic arm bracelets.  You carry that thing everywhere.  And you love music, you know which buttons to hit to make the music go and do it over and over.  You can clap and do so often because you love the sound it makes.

I catch you giggling to yourself sometimes and I always wonder what is so funny.  I hope you always find amusement in the little things.

Every time I open the fridge no matter where you are, you bee line it for the open door.  However, I am faster than you and I know that really pisses you off!

Your blanket (which I am pretty sure you are starting to call baba like your sister) is your everything.  Your whole body shakes in excitement when I hand it to you.

You love when I read you books and giggle every time I scratch the elephants ears.

You genuinely love the park.  Grunt and flap your arms when we approach one even though all you can do it swing in the swings and sit on the slide.  I think you just like to hang with your big sis.

You chill out in the stroller for hours and love to cruise the hood in the red car.

You go nuts for the bath.  Cannot get in it fast enough.  You only want to stand so I spend the whole time yelling at you to sit down!

You love chewing on your tooth brush and freak out when I take it away.

You are standing for multiple seconds at a time and I know it is just a matter of time before you are walking.  Sniff, sniff, I am just not ready for that yet.

Okay, now if you can just start sleeping through the night.  I know, I miss you in the middle of the night too but we will see each other again in the morning.  There is no need to wake up multiple times a night screaming so I come running.  Yes, I know this is partially my fault since I do it  but let’s try to stop this together okay?  People tell me to let you cry but I can hear the sadness in your loud upset cry and can’t bring myself to let you cry any longer.  Now, if I do come running to pick you up, please don’t cry when I sit down.  You are 25 pounds and rocking and walking with you is not so easy these days.  And if you do fall asleep on my shoulder don’t open your eyes the second I put you back in your crib like you’ve been fake sleeping for the

last 20 minutes while my back is breaking.  Lastly, 5:30am is way too early to wake up.  Just you wait and one day you will learn.

Despite the fact that you wake me up multiple times a night (for the past 10 months) I love you more than anything in the world.  You are the chubbiest, cutest, happiest, funniest little boy and I love you so much!

Ohio!

Our travels did not stop in Chicago, we rented a car and drove 7 hours to Cleveland Ohio to see Josh's brother Zach and the fam.  20 minutes into the trip Emmy started with the "are we there yet" and it didn't stop for 7 hours.  Nope, despite the fact we were all exhausted, Emmy never closed her eyes the entire ride...  Zach and Amy live in a beautiful house, in an amazing neighborhood.  I loved it!  Emmy was reunited with her cousins and Ryan got to meet the boys for the first time.  They all had a blast!  It is a little bitter sweet.  So sweet to watch how much fun Emmy and Ryan have with their cousins and so sad since they don't get to see each other often enough.  Although, it is so awesome to see how well they get along and love each other even though they don't see each other very often.  I guess that is what is is like with all our family...

Anyway, it rained the whole time we were there so we had a whole lot of fun inside :)

Before the rain came.  Are you kidding me?  This is their backyard!

Ryan loved playing with the boys!

Smores!

Pancakes for breakfast - thank you Uncle Zach!

Dylan had a little shadow for a few days...

What a spoiled little girl.

Skyping with Grandma.

Clearly you can see which family Ryan takes after.

On our way home.  3 planes, 2 time zones, a rental car and 5 airport shuttles with 4 carry on bags, 2 car seats, a stroller and 3 suit cases and we made it!  :)

Me looking just a little bit tired...

Chicago - Part 2

Unfortunately, Marc and Dad had to leave a day before us.  But the rest of us enjoyed another awesome day at Millenium Park.  Josh, Emmy and I even went on a boat tour!  Seriously, Chicago is the coolest city.  Emmy and Ryan were so good, walking around the whole city, sleeping in a different house and adapting to a new time zone.  Oh and the two of them were sick with really bad colds.  What troopers!

Not only did Ryan wake up multiple times a night, we was up by 6a every morning.  Clearly he didn't understand that it was really 4am west coast time....

The bean!

Architecture boat tour.
