A nice little Saturday

We had a great day today!  We started with Emmy's swim lesson which she loves.  Jumps in the pool all by herself and can now float on her back!

Then we headed to her buddy's b-day party.  Every time we spend time with her school friends I am amazed.  They are all such good friends, i just love watching them.  The girls hug each other goodbye.  I can only imagine what they'll be like as teenagers...

 

Tonight we had a very fancy dinner at Island Prime.  Josh's company ended their fiscal very well so we were able to treat ourselves on the company card!  We sat for 2 hours and Emmy was an angel.  I seriously thinks she enjoys eating at nice restaurants, she is so good.  We are n trouble, champagne taste already...  She watched the boats go by, ate jumbo prawn cocktail, chicken strips and mud pie!  We had such a nice night, yet another that makes us feel very lucky to live here.

 

 

 

Weekend Getaway

Last weekend Josh and I had one last getaway before baby brother arrives.  A friend of ours was having their wedding reception in Huntington Beach so what a better place to stay!  It was beautiful weather and we relaxed all weekend, just what we needed.

Back at home, my mom and dad had a fun busy weekend with Emmy!  They played, ate hit up the beach and apparently ate a lot of ice cream. :)

Daddy Day Weekend

We had a great weekend. Caught up with some friends, ate lots, relaxed and finally saw a little sunshine!

Our good friends were visiting from Sacramento so came over for dinner.  Josh treated us all to an amazing lobster dinner and prepared everything.  Of course Emmy loved the lobster, such expensive taste.  We watched our daughter's play as we reminisced about our ridiculous college years :)

 

All week Emmy knew it was Daddy Day today.  "Today is Daddy Day and then it will be Emmy day". 

Long lost video

I left my flip video camera at my parents house at Christmas and finally got it back and up and working again.  Here are a few videos from Thanksgiving and Christmas.  She has grown up so much in just 6 months!

Our Fearless Fish

 It had been way too long since we had been up to Westlake to see my parents so we headed up this weekend.  It was a beautiful weekend, as always, we hung outside, ate, laughed and were constantly entertained by Emmy.  We all know she loves the water but she took it to a whole new level this weekend.  She was in the water for 6 hours straight both days and is FEARLESS!  Asked to take her floaties off and not be held.  Anytime she dropped into the water, we'd pick her up and she'd laugh and say "I sinked".  Good thing we have her in swim lessons now!

Our Little Star

This weekend was one big proud parent moment for me.  Emmy has been taking dance lessons at preschool for the past 6 months.  An outside company comes to the school to teach the kids (what a genius idea).  Today was her first dance recital!  There were about 15 dances, 150 dancers and an auditorium of about 250-300 people.  It was legit!  Dress rehearsal was Friday night and the show was tonight.  Emmy was not only beautiful in her costume, she was such a little performer and had so much fun.  Her comment at the end was "I only got one turn!".  I was so proud watching her on stage she looked liked such a big girl and it just brought back so many memories of when I started dancing very young as well.  I promise not to become a "stage mom" but I have a feeling there will be more recitals in our future!
