Dinner

We usually have a lot of fun at dinner. Emmy is still a great eater and she loves to tell us about her day and sing songs. If you are ever invited over for dinner, be prepared, she'll make you sing....

Tonight I cooked 2 dinners. Citrus tilapia, quinoa and califlower for Josh and I and chicken nuggets and sweet potato fries for Emmy, assuming she would not want our dinner. Um, I was wrong. She wanted nothing to do with her chicken nuggets or fries and kept saying more fish and flowers please. I pretty much left the table still hungry. She was such a good girl today I gave her some nilla wafers after her fish dinner. She counted them in Spanish. This kid never ceases to amaze me.....






Not only does she love to sing, she also loves to watch herself on video!

Surprise!

We had a weekend full of celebrations - Josh and my 5 year wedding anniversary, my Dad's 65th b-day, my parent's 35th wedding anniversary and Easter of course. But the best celebration and surprise was my brother flew out from NY to surprise us! He literally jumped out of the family room and scared the crap out of me. We had a weekend full of fun, laughs and food!

Our annual Easter brunch at the Catamaran! Emmy was once again very excited to see the Easter Bunny and was very patient while waiting for the hunt.

Babies

Emmy is still obsessed with all of her babies. She probably has about 10 now and loves to carry them around and put them to sleep. She is very particular about them laying on their stomachs and putting a blanket over them and then patting their backs. She'll do this for hours. She also talks to them, kisses them if they fall and sings "rock a bye baby", she is very sweet. She likes them all to be naked with the exception of socks and shoes. So weird.

The other night I went to check on her before i went to bed and found her like this. She is so sweet, she let he babies have all the room! I had to do a double take, I thought she escaped!




She has also been taking a bath with her baby and she has to sit next to her while we dry them both off. I definitely get a few "this is so much fun mommy" while she takes a bath with her baby, she thinks it is so cool. None of her babies have names she refers to them all as "baby" expect this one is new baby :)

This is Fun

Emmy's new phrase is "this is fun Mommy!". When she looks up at me and says that, they are the sweetest words in the world. I try and do fun things with her so to hear her say it and know she is having fun is the greatest feeling of accomplishment. This weekend we had lots of fun.

Mommy brought Emmy home a new pair of shoes! Are these not the cutest things you have ever seen?! I personally don't even own a pair of Tom's but our stylist daughter does.



Ready for picture day at school!



On Friday, Emmy and I took a trip to the beach. I lost a flip flop (AKA Emmy hid it somewhere and I can't find it anywhere) so I had to buy another pair. How could I buy a pair without getting some for Emmy? Yes, Josh already knows he is in trouble. After our shoe shopping we had to stop for a snack.



Beach time! It was a beautiful weekend so we headed to the beach again...

Then we washed the cars. Emmy thought it was the greatest thing ever to wash her car too :)

Emmy got to hang out with her buddy Finn all weekend! They are so cute together, they get along so well, it is awesome. Best of all, Finn's mom is the best too. She had Emmy over for dinner so Josh and I could squeeze in a date night :) Thanks, Anne!!

When I told Emmy we had to get dressed to go to Sea World I got the standard response "I'll do it". She came out of her room with no pants and her shoes on the wrong foot!

2 year old program

Starting last month Emmy moved up to the 2 year old program at daycare. They now consider it pre-school and she spends her days with 2-3 year olds instead of the 1-2 year olds. She has grown leaps and bounds this past month it is crazy! She is not talking in basically full sentences and can sing more songs than I can keep up with. Her new saying is " What is that?" or "Where did that come from?". She tells us what she wants to do "Emmy watch Barney after bath. No basketball dada". No, I am not kidding. Yes, she is still obsessed with Barney, unfortunately.... I still use this as my "baby book" since I don't have one, so I am documenting all she can do!

She has learned the following:
- All of the colors

- She can count to 20, although she tends to skip sixteen and repeats seventeen a few times:)

- She knows the difference between small and big, hot and cold, side and middle, etc

- She knows all her friends names from school. She tells us that her and Riley go running and school and that Riley has the same Elmo t-shirt. The fact that she has friends is the cutest thing ever. When I take her in the morning she says hi to everyone. "There's Sohia", "Hi Jake", "Good Morning Max".

- She can open the fridge and takes out food. We have to be careful!

- She can act out almost every Barney episode! I am going to try and get it on video because it is hilarious! She sings and does all the moves the kids do. She even had props, it is quite the scene. I am 100% positive we have a performer on our hands!

- She can sing more songs than I can keep track:
