Saturday we drove 30 minutes out east to meet Anne, Noah and Finn at the Pumpkin Patch. It was on a dairy farm so it smelled pretty bad, was pretty dirty and there were so many flies I swear there is still one flying around in my car! Unfortunately, Josh dropped the camera while trying to take a picture of Emmy petting a goat :( We are going to try and get it repaired but it does not look good. It was cute to see Emmy and Finn running but next year we are taking a trip to Vons to get our pumpkins!
Emmy did get to drive a tractor and ride in the wagon with Finn. I took these with my phone, they turned out pretty good!

20 months old
I can't believe Emmy is no longer in the "teens", she is growing up so fast it is ridiculous. She continues to amaze us each day with what she learns to say, do and how much her personality is coming through. I love her so much, I can't believe it is possible to love her more until I do each day. At 20 months Emmy:
- Is still a pretty good eater with very mature habits:
- She still LOVES guacamole, tortilla chips are her favorite thing ever to eat
- "Dipping" is her favorite meal pastime
- She likes parmesan cheese sprinkled on her noodles
- She will now only eat the muffins tops
- Her favorite cereal is now mini shredded wheats and she even eats them dry!
- Her favorite vegetable is still asparagus but she is also a big fan of cooked spinach
- She is still obsessed with Elmo and watches "Elmo's adventures in Grouchland" almost everyday
- She has started to like watching "Yo gabba gabba" but only likes when DJ Lance is on the screen and calls him "daba"
- She sleeps with a stuffed duck, elmo and at least 2 babies every night
- Her favorite baby is black with long black hair, I love seeing her carry her around since she is so fair
- She has another baby that her cousin gave her so she calls it "didan" for Dylan
- She LOVES to wash her hands in the sink
- She peed in the potty again today!
- Her favorite books to read before bed are one about shoes and I'll Love you Forever. She makes me read them about 3 times in a row and then "reads" them to me
- She carries our house phone around the house and pretends to call Nanny and Papa
- She is learning 5 new words a day - I swear. She is now saying at least 2 words at a time:
- Bumble Bee
- Bump head
- Thank you Mama
- All done cook
- clap hands
- Where are you?
- Almost home
- etc, etc
She is such an amazing little girl who could not be happier in life. She loves going to daycare and has started to talking about her friends "Mimi" and "Rylie" and looks disappointed when we show up to pick her up. Her favorite buddy is still Finn of course. We have a picture of them on our fridge she see talks about him all the time :) I can only imagine the fun times we have to come as she grows up and learns even more!

Lazy Weekend
It was gloomy and rainy these past few days, making for a great lazy weekend! We ran a few errands but mostly just hung out inside, having fun with monkey. It was so nice to relax and just spent time together. I would do anything for another day at home together....
Emmy is obsessed with her jean jacket, wants to wear it with everything, including her pjs! She is also carrying her new purse that Josh brought back from SF. She carries keys and a wallet in it at all times ... How 80s does she look in this picture?!
Sushi! I am not exaggerating, she ate an entire bowl of edamame. We'd start squeezing the beans through and she'd eat them out of the shell. She loaded up on one week's worth of fiber in a night!
First bubble bath! Surprisingly she wasn't too into it....
This morning she slept in until 8:30 :) When we went into her room this is how we found her. Sitting next to her "friends" sucking her thumb. She didn't even want us to get her out so proceeding to sing "ABC" for another half hour!
New Elmo slippers!
We are not used to being cooped up inside so I had to organize some activities for us.
Painting at the big girl table
Snacks with all her babies :)

Girls Weekend!
Josh won a sales trip to Napa that happened to be the week after he was just there! He is being wined and dined at a beautiful vineyard and spending time in San Francisco. So, you can imagine my disappointment when I found out I could not go... So, Emmy and I are having a girls weekend! We have had so much fun together, it has been the greatest weekend.
We started to weekend by meeting Anne and Finn at one of my favorite places, Balboa Park.
I am not sure who taught her but she all of a sudden loves to play hide and go seek! She says "hiding" and then either hides behind her bedroom door or crouches in the corner. When I "find" her she thinks it is the funniest thing ever!
This morning we hit up the park and Emmy decided she no longer wants to sit in the baby swing. Not only did she sit in the big girl swing, she kept saying "no mama" and made me stand about 2 feet from her so she could do it herself. I have a feeling this is just the beginning!
This afternoon we went to see Disney on Ice and she LOVED IT! I wasn't sure how she'd be but I got free tickets through work so thought I'd check it out. She was a little frightened at first but after a few minutes she was just amazed. She sat on my lap for an hour watching the show. After intermission she stood in front of me and danced, clapped her hands and yelled. Watching her have so much fun was one of the greatest moments ever, one I will never forget.
I am such a sucker, I always have to buy her a souvenir : )
To end the night, us girls went to pizza for dinner!
I missed Josh the past few days more than I thought I would and can't wait for him to be home. But Emmy and I have had so much fun! I am so lucky to have such a beautiful daughter, and to be able to share so many more memories together.
Thank you Emmy for such a fun day. I love you!

It's Official...
Emmy is talking! She has been chatting for a while with a pretty big vocabulary but yesterday it was as if she finally got it and could repeat everything we said. Josh and i decided that if anyone asked us when Emmy started talking we'd say yesterday. She is pronouncing sounds she could not before, it is so cute to listen to her talk. We are really going to need to watch what we say from here on out. Some of her new words:
- Dirty and clean. She is obsessed with cleaning everything with a paper towel. learning to clean early :)
- Clean up
- Apple, pear, eggs, toast
- Foot
- Dylan (Amy - that is what she calls the doll Dylan gave her it is so cute!)
- Finn! She finally learned to say his name yesterday and has not stopped!
- Spoon and bowl
- Help
- Please and thank you
- Chicken
- Cheese
- Beer, she knows those are Daddy's :)
