Hip Hop Performance

Emmy's been taking a hip hop class for the past few months and last weekend was the dance rehearsal. It was so fun to watch - I AM SO PROUD OF HER!!  She took the class without any friends (she can get so shy) she danced on a huge stage with hundreds of people watching, she learned and remembered the whole dance. She hated wearing make-up and couldn't wait to take it off - love it :)

School's Out for Summer!

Well, it got our a week ago but I am finally just now posting some pictures. Can't believe my little monkey is already done 1st grade! She had such a great year this year - her teacher was amazing and she made some great new friends. She honestly seemed more sad than happy that summer was here.

Our new tradition is Grandma comes to visit the first week of summer. Of course the two of them spent endless hours at good old C-mont Square. Emmy's favorite place :)

Father's Day Weekend

Well, it's finally summer in SD! The weekend started off humid, gloomy with a few sprinkles but ended hot and sunny. We hit up the beach a few times and were busy as usual. Although when I asked what Josh wanted to do yesterday he said watch golf and basketball - pretty easy to please :)

We knew that was only a matter of time...

We've been doing a lot of puzzles together. This was our biggest one yet - 550. I think it was a little too tough, the kids lost interest. So Josh and I ended up staying up last night to finish the damn thing so we could finally get it off our kitchen counter. One piece missing - damn it Sadie!!

 

Its going to be a hot one day. I've been taking Sadie for a run at 6a before it gets too hot. Thank God for AC!!!  Clearly Sadie isn't a summer dog.

End of year fun

Last week I was able to swing a day off and go on a field trip with Emmy and her class to the natural history museum. Then Friday was field day! I surprised her by coming to volunteer last minute at field day. She couldn't have cared a less that I was there and told me I embarassed her when I yelled her name, ran across the field and gave her a hug. Why on earth would she be embarassed about that?! Okay, note taken. I would much rather her want to be with her friends than be clingy to me. I watch her laugh with her friends and am so proud of her. She is so smart, strong, athletic and beautiful!!

Ready for Field Day! 

Swing

These kids LOVE to swing! I thought they would've grown out of that swing set years ago but they still love it just as much as the day we got it. No Ryan can swing all by himself so they run outside and play together. They've been having so much fun laughing away and even though they are both occupied, which means I can go and do something, I spy on them from inside the house because it makes me so happy to see them so happy :) I know its only a matter of time before they will no longer be swinging together outside so I am soaking it up while I can.

More hiking! We had to cross a stream on this one. It was super tricky, there were not many rocks to step on - Emmy charged across and call me a wuss.

I am officially closer to 40 than 30. Ugh. 

Emmy is obsessed with making look bracelets! This morning was one of those mornings when these two were inseparable. The morning started with them snuggling in Emmy's bed reading books together. It was the sweetest thing I had ever seen.

Fiesta de Mayo 2016

Last night was Spreckels Annual Fiesta de Mayo. Emmy loves wearing those skirts and dancing! Then it was followed by a had house of games and a late night!
