I love 3 days weekends

They are the best! I feel like we actually get to relax a bit and have fun before we dread the week to come. And then holy shit its almost the weekend again!

It also happened to be 80 degrees and sunny again which makes for an even better 3 day, Valentine's weekend!
Poor Sadie was spayed on Thursday.

We ride up to Clairemont square on our bikes pretty often. We all ride our bikes and Ryan rides in the front of Josh's. Until this weekend. Ryan was adamant about riding his bike and he made it the whole way and back! He rode so fast one of his training wheels came off. He was so proud of himself :)

On Valentine's Day we took a walk in the canyon below our house. And we brought Sadie who was in heaven!

Family pics!

Car washing kind of afternoon. Ryan kept his helmet on the whole afternoon - safety first!

Then Emmy and I got manis and pedis :)

Monday we went to the beach - it was PERFECT

To top it off, we have a very last minute, very quick visit from Uncle Marc :)

Goodnight Football

We've been reading this book every night so now Ryan can "read" it. So sweet.

Emmy's Valentine's Day Performance

Emmy is loving all her singing performances!

Weekend

Well, we made it through the week! We were so excited to see Josh Friday night (yay!) and then had to say by again Saturday morning (boo!), he was off again. At least this time he was only gone for a night.

So, we did what we do best - stayed in our jammies late, went to the park, cooked, danced and played with Sadie. It was 75 degrees and sunny all weekend - it was amazing!

Well, at least she is getting used to being pulled and tugged. Sadie loves to snuggle!

Toaster is broken - better call bob the builder!

A little tennis at the park. Love Ryan's princess paddle :)

The cold weather, crazy Sadie and Emmy's broken arm has really kept us from the park lately. We hung out for a long time and these two through snacks at each other down the slide probably 100 times.

The tough thing about Josh being gone is walking the dog at night. She EXPECTS a walk around 7p/7:30p. It'll be nice when it starts staying light out. Ryan was tired so we pushed him in the stroller. Emmy - "Can I push him down the hill?" Hmmm, define "push him"?

Now that is a GOOD dog!

A sunny/hot day isn't complete without a trip to Ritas! We rode out bikes, bought a million valentines for friends. classmates and teachers and stopped for a treat ourselves :)

DANCE PARTY!
I am trying to get her to agree to dances classes! After our ortho appointment on Friday, looks like her gymnastics career is over...
Apparently Emmy heard this song in a movie and was singing the words. Me, not thinking, said hey let's find it on itunes! Then I actually listened to the words...

Morning Drop off x3!

Josh left for St. Louis yesterday so it is just me, the kiddos and Sadie this week. We have survived the weeks on our own many times but I was a little nervous heading into this week because I've got to figure out what to do with the dog and how to get her exercise (so she is not crazy) all week. This is how our morning drop off routine went.

7:45a - left the house! (after bribing Emmy with $2 to help me get everyone out the door. She was helpful before she pulled attitude so she earned $1)
8:05a - Drop off #1: Sadie - Camp-run-a-mutt in sports arena (She didn't puke in the car - BONUS!)
8:15a - Drop off #2: Ryan - Balwin Academy in PB
8:35a - pit stop at Sprouts for scones (Emmy was still hungry, what else is new)
8:45a - Drop off #3: Emmy - Spreckels Elementary in University City
9:15a - Arrive at Marcomm office in Mission Hills

Phew! I drove all over town in opposite directions and it took 1 1/2 hours but we made it! Now let's hope pick-up goes as smooth... :)

Looking not so happy to be in the car :(

Windy Weekend

San Diego got some weather! For a day anyway :) Friday I took the day off to go with Emmy and her class on a field trip to the zoo. We were there the whole day - it was so fun! I look getting to know her new little buddies and my friend Erin went too so I had someone to hang out with.

The kids were allowed to bring cameras so of course Emmy brought her new camera from uncle Marc! She was so excited, she took 3 rolls of film. Now I have to figure out where to get it developed :)

Saturday Emmy was reunited with LIA! They haven't seen each other for months so I picked her up, we went to lunch and then painted some pottery. They were so cute

The actually took their time painting. We hung at this place for 1 1/2 hours while they painted, chatted and ate ice cream.

Sunday we stayed in our PJs all day (literally) and went to a movie.

The perks of working in the "spirits industry" you have jello shot cups on hand to make them for the kids.

Ryan takes a music class at school. Its so rad. Apparently, his super awesome teacher has been teaching them to read music. I caught him drawing notes on lined paper. :)

Last night the weather was nuts! It was so cold and windy but that didn't stop me and Sadie from our nightly walk. The streets were cold, windy and empty. I am totally digging the cold weather, think I am ready to live in the cold :)

Then we snuggled up :)

Last weekend

was awesome! I had a last minute visit from Anne! We got crazy, went out for happy hour and dinner (by ourselves), stayed out until 8:15p (we really are getting old) and dragged Emmy along for a hike up a mountain that looked intimidating to me!  It was a quick trip but so fun to catch up. I miss you buddy!

Monday we had the day off (wahoo!), we slept in, hung in our jammie, played and had a picnic with some friends at the park.

Emmy was amazing! It ended up being hot, we didn't bring enough water and we hiked 1.5 miles UP!
