Holiday fun with friends

We had a fun, busy weekend!  We were lucky enough to hang out with friends a few times over the weekend, Emmy and Ryan had a blast.  The Santoro's and Norgarts came for dinner Saturday and then we all met up at the PB Christmas parade yesterday.  The kids are almost the same exact ages and all play so well together it is so cute to watch.  Ryan and Sophia really hit it off this weekend :)

Emmy and Ryan were playing restaurant with all of their animal friends.

The three amigos who have all known each other since they were born.  Crazy to think Van and Emmy have gone to school together almost every day since they were one!

Up to no good....  Sophia and Ryan aka scarface

Match made in heaven.  They were both on the hunt for more food!  One day they'll be snooping for beer.

What a beautiful way to end the weekend.

16 months!

My little buddy is 16 months today!  He is turning into such a little man, sometimes it seems like he is older than he is!  He has developed quite a personality, he really keeps us on our toes.

He is saying a lot of words now.  Some of his new ones are:
-          Stuck
-          Truck
-          Elmo (Who he calls Melmo.  He gets so excited when the theme song from Sesame Street is on)
-          Waffle
-          Yum yum (He “cooks” us food on his kitchen and carries it around to each of us saying yum, yum)
-          Papa
-          Teeth (he LOVES to brush his teeth)
-          Shoes
-          Up
-          Out
Bubbles (he loves washing his hands with soap!)
       Knock knock

He nods his head yes when I ask him questions.  It is so funny because it is so exaggerated.

He is recently into dinosaurs.  There is a trailer for a new movie and he is just memorized when it comes on.

He still doesn’t sleep through the night.  Ugh.  But comes in our bed every morning around 4 a.m. and snuggles so close our faces touch.  I get woken up with kisses on my lips which makes me forget all about the fact I was up 3 times that night :)

We have a climber!  We can’t keep him off the kitchen chairs and he is always hoisting his leg up onto the coffee table

Emmy is his idol.  He follows her everywhere and copies everything she does.  And she does the same thing!  Yesterday she was home sick but we took Ryan so she could rest.  Around noon, she asked when school was over because she wanted to see brother. So sweet.

He loves to sweep the floor and goes nuts over the broom

All of our Christmas tree decorations are at the top of the tree because he keeps picking them off.

He LOVES to dance and sing.  Any time he hears music, he starts bouncing with a little grin on his face.  He knows all the hand movements for itsy bitsy spider (his favorite), twinkle twinkle little star and row, row your boat.

The kid has so much hair we’ve been getting it cut almost monthly!

His first incisor just cut this week and two more are coming any day.  After the incisors come in he will have all of his teeth, including molars.  Kind of a lot for a little guy.

He hugs and blow kisses to anyone who walks by or says good bye.  Every day when we leave school he has to give each one of his teachers a hug and kiss and blows them all kisses the whole way to the car.

He is the sweetest little guy ever.

Kisses for Emmy!

Girls Afternoon

I had been looking forward to Saturday afternoon for weeks!  Emmy and I went to see the Grinch Stole Christmas at Balboa Park and then out to lunch.  We had so much fun hanging the two of us, I think we both needed it. She is so good and so much fun to hang out with.  We had lunch at the Prado and just chatted away, such a big girl already.

Munchins!

Pre-show hot chocolate.

A little adventure at the end of the day.  We got stuck in the rain!

I never posted the pics of us getting and decorating the tree.  We've been getting into the Christmas spirit!

Who knew Home Depot was so fun?!

Thanksgiving Weekend

We had a great long, holiday weekend up in Westlake.  It was just us and my parents this year but the kiddos make enough of a ruckus for 15 people!  We chased after Ryan non-stop and kept Emmy entertained every minute!  We had lots of fun and it was so nice to have a break.  It sure was hard to go back to work this week 3 weeks and it will be Christmas!  My favorite time of year :)

Piano is always a hit!

A little tea time with Papa

I LOVE this picture

Happy Thanksgiving!

Quite the plate of food

We walked miles around the hood

Sweet Lucy was such a trooper and was so good with both kids.  :)
