Best 4th of July Ever

We had an awesome day today!  We had no plans and no expectations which always makes for a great day :)  We weren't sure if we were going to see any sun today so started the day with a hike.  There is a great little hike and forest literally at the bottom of the hill we live on.  You would not believe it looking at the pictures but I walked home afterwards because Ryan fell asleep in the stroller that is how close it is!  Emmy loves hiking, thinks it is the funniest thing ever when she slipped on the rocks.

Well the sun came out so we hit the beach!  We left the house and were on the sand in less than 30 minutes, that is some kind of record for the 4th!  Emmy is already a beach bum and today Ryan proved he could keep up too.  Oh to raise gorgeous blondies, in San Diego, at the beach.  We are in soooo much trouble.

The girls whose parents all met at the good old Green Flash.  We had a moment of terror thinking of them chilling on the beach for the 4th of July in like 15 years from now.  YES we really are in BIG trouble.

Have you ever seen a cooler looking dude?!  I guess Josh is pretty cool too.  Haha.

I think we just might have to go back and do this all again tomorrow :)

Quick Trip

Last weekend we took a quick trip up to Westlake.  I think we were the only ones in Southern California who drove towards the heat.  We left a cool San Diego and drove to 105 degree weather.  With a pool and AC who cares!  Emmy was in heaven being a little fish and to no surprise so was Ryan.

I missed this one but apparently Emmy left her goggles in the pool so papa tried to get them and fell in.  Emmy thought the fact that papa got his underwear wet was the funniest thing ever!

Even though it was still 90 degrees out us idiots decided to roast marsh mellows around a hot fire.  At least smores are delicious!

Is the weekend really over?

Two days is just never long enough....   We enjoyed the sunshine, played in the pool, did a whole lot of gardening, took our daily walk around the hood looking for "treasures" and ate a lot as always.  I think Ryan is eating more than Emmy it is crazy how much that kid eats!  He is a speedy crawler and is standing on his own more and more.  Uh oh....

Emmy is suck a stinker dumping water on Ryan's head!  Good thing it doesn't bother him in the least.

Happy Weekend

It is hard to believe but this past weekend was our first whole, normal weekend in our new house.  It was a beautiful weekend and we just hung around the house and played lots on the new grass :)  Anne, Noah, Finn and Sophia came for pizza Saturday and had a blast.  Ryan tried pizza for the first time and ate an entire slice of cheese pizza.  I think he may have eaten more than Emmy.  We had a nice little Fathers Day around the house, all Josh wanted to do was garden and watch golf.  Sure is easy to please.
