What we've been up to

 It's been hard to find time to update the blog lately.  We've been busy!  I honestly can't even remember what we've been doing other than trying to keep up.  So the last few weeks in pictures...

September 2014

 September hasn't exactly been the easiest month so I welcome October :)  I am not going to complain but I will be glad when Josh isn't traveling each week and we have our kitchen back after learning about insurance and home ownership the hard way!

Reunited and it feels so good!  Lia came over last weekend and I haven't seen Emmy that happy, well since she was at Baldwin with Lia :)

The best part of the month - josh's bday!  We went to PF Changs, his favorite and apparently Emmy's too.  She loves lettuce wraps and can now eat with chop sticks.

It's been a while since I've been able to post any pictures.  The last few weeks has been a blur. I don't think I've ever been so busy!  AND HOT!  We've had a crazy heat wave.  So hot that most schools have had minimum days because of the heat and lack of air conditioning.  Thank goodness Emmy's school has AC.  Sure wish we had it at our house.

The Santoro's were smart and got a hotel room this weekend and were nice enough to let us crash the hotel :) Ryan and Sophia are really loving each other these days.  They just don't stop eating and are very good about sharing their snacks with each other :)

Both Emmy and Ryan also LOVE Emmett! I mean how could you not - look how cute he is! Ryan can't understand why the baby isn't allowed to eat any real food. Haha.

Today at the beach.  And crazy humid!  We had a thunder storm tonight with a rainbow.

 

Emmy's first day of kindergarten

Well, it came, it went and we survived. Emmy was pretty excited this morning.  She actually brushed her hair.  She never lets me brush her hair, it is always a rats nest, so this was a very big deal.  I could tell she was nervous because she got really quiet (and a little bitchy). People asked if I cried and I didn't.  Emmy is strong, smart and I know she will adjust and do fine (although I worried about her all day!).  But when her and Ryan hugged goodbye because it was the first morning they weren't going together, I teared up.  They gave each other a HUGE hug while they said "bye bye Emmy", "bye bye Ryan".  It was so sweet :)

We met her new friend Riley at the play ground but then parted ways because they are not in the same class.  She lined up like she was told and walked right in, never looking back.  She was happy when I picked her up.  She told me she cried this morning after we left and didn't eat a single thing from her lunch but this afternoon she met a girl named Jasmine.  Like from Aladdin, duh.  :) I know it will be an adjustment, for all of us, but at least we have the first day behind us!

End of Summer

Lucky for us, when our vacation ended in HB, we got to drive back to San Diego :) We had an awesome week full of sun, fun and ice cream!  We went to Sea World, swimming at the community pool, the beach a few times, went shoe shopping and did some gardening.  We are all beat! I am sad the week is over but know we have many more fun times ahead.  I just love spending time with the kiddos so much, I am really going to miss them tomorrow...

Emmy actually has to wear shoes to school.  The kid lives in flip flops so this is a big deal.  We tried to make it fun and exciting to buy "real shoes" we got a pair a slip ons and convinced her to get some actual running shoes.  So of course Ryan had to get some too.  I've never seen him so excited about something before.  He LOVES these shoes.  It is hilarious.
