I love the weekends

We had the laziest weekend ever and it was glorious!  The past few weeks/month have been so crazy busy I literally could not bring myself to do anything this weekend.  We just hung around the house, played, decorated and had fun!  I was in the picture taking mood so I took a ton of pics as always :)

Thursday was gymnastics.  I know technically Thursday is not yet the weekend but I start thinking about them on Monday...

Emmy LOVES gymnastics!  I am tired just watching her.  Oh and after running around after Ryan for an hour, trying to keep him out of trouble.

This week I took him over to kid ventures next door so he could play for a while.  We haven't been there in years and I think I took Emmy for the first time around his age :)

Crazy strong!

He is obsessed with books these days.

Friday night we had some friends over for pizza.  Literally pizza and paper plates.  We should probably step up the dinners one of these days....

Sophia was so cute hanging with the big girls :)

 Ahhh finally the weekend...

He presses the buttons with his belly.

Decorating pumpkins, no knives needed :)

My attempt at getting a cute picture of the two of them

Dinner at our house is crazy and fun!  These kids refuse to eat mac and cheese but gobble up salmon, stir fried veggies and wild rice.  I am still shocked every time.  Tonight Josh, Emmy and Ryan started a rock band.

Looks like everyone is as tired as me.

Open House

Tonight was open house at Emmy and Ryan's school.  It is always a zoo!  Emmy's little junior kindergarten class did a performance.  They sang you are my sunshine and the itsy bitsy spider in Spanish.  And there was Emmy front and center smiling and singing away.  Then we had to stay and watch all the rest of her friends in the other classes. She just continues to amaze me every day.

No performance from Ryan this year.  He just loves waving at and giving all the Baldwin ladies hugs!

Night Getaway

Marc has been living it up in Palm Springs working for the past week so we decided to take a trip to visit him!  The weather was perfect and although we only got to see Marc for a little while, it was great to see him and was totally worth the trip.  As always we had a blast!  The kids destroyed his room in about 3 minutes and we realized quickly that staying in a hotel room with a 4 year old and 14 month old who does not like to sleep is just a bit of a challenge, especially when you forgot the stroller....

Room service for lunch!

The pool outside of our room that I chased Ryan around for hours...

Emmy was doing great swimming!  She was diving down to the bottom, doing somersaults and breathing like a pro!  I would have taken more pictures of her if I wasn't chasing Ryan around the pool, see comment above.

There is always someone on Ryan duty... :)

What fun is a hotel room if you aren't able to destroy it?!

CHEESE!

Caught red handed

Ryan was obsessed with the fountains and rivers and trying to climb through the bars.

Fortunately, only his shoe fell in right after I took this picture, not him!

14 months

Ryan is now 14 months and is already full of personality!  Not only does he weigh what most two (and some three) year olds do, I am pretty sure he has as much hair as a teenager.   He cruises around after Emmy like he thinks he is her size, he is wise beyond his years.

He is really into climbing on things these days.  We’ve had to move some furniture around in an attempt to avoid a disastrous fall.  So far so good….

He loves to be outside and cruise around the hood, just like his big sis.

I am not sure if it is simply his personality or exposure to kids at daycare but he is really social.  He’ll run over to kids and the store or the park and just yell and if he is saying “hi”.  He was totally flirting with a little girl at Jamba Juice the other day.  He is going to be a total ladies’ man.

He still eats a TON!  For breakfast he’ll eat an egg, a piece of toast and a banana.  All in one sitting.  He still loves fruit and veggies, salmon and yogurt.  Healthy little guy.

He is quite the talker these days.  He mutters to himself all the time but is starting to also say a lot of words.  Now we just need to work on volume control…  Not all words are understood by anyone but our family but he is consistently saying the following:
-          Mama, dada (usually he screams DA!), Emmy and baba (our kids blankets are practically members of our family)
-          Book
-          Bath
-          Hat (which he calls bat)
-          Bird
-          MORE (which he screams when he wants food)
-          Ball
       Blocks
-          Nack (aka snack)
-          Ruff (when he sees a dog)
-          Up
-          Uh Oh
-          Bye bye (that is always accompanied by an awesome little wave)
Hands down the word he says most frequently is “wow”.  Every time he sees something new or an airplane fly by he says “oh wow” it is so cute.

He likes to wear hats just like his sister did.  Actually he is an accessory guy.  He likes to wear sunglasses, Emmy’s necklaces and headbands and likes carrying around a purse.  Drives Josh nuts!

He LOVES dogs.  He can spot one a block away and if we are at the park runs toward them.  The other day he was surrounded by 3 dogs running around and was in heaven.

He is very sweet.  The other night Emmy got in trouble for something and was crying on the couch.  I watched Ryan cruise over and start gently patting her back.  It was the sweetest thing ever.

First day of gymnastics!

Emmy had her first day of gymnastics today!  She has been asking to go for a while and now that we are taking a break from swim class we thought we'd throw it into the mix.  I knew that kids was strong but watching her today makes me realize she is crazy strong!  And fearless!  She didn't hesitate for a moment as she was doing the bridge, dive summersaults, swinging over the bar and hoisting herself up!  So fun to watch :)

Dress up Day!

Today Ryan's class had dress-up day.  Emmy and Ryan's school is non-denominational so they do not celebrate any holidays which can be little bit of a bummer sometimes but we celebrate at home :)  They do conveniently have dress up day close to Halloween.  We are still not exactly certain what he is going to be for Halloween so we whipped together something for today.  Personally, I think he was the cutest basketball player ever!
