My Owie is FIVE

Despite my pleads to stay little forever, Owie turned 5! Being the last one, it feels monumental, him getting older, but he is so special at the same time it is amazing to watch! He is equally sweet and defiant, funny and wild yet a rule follower, a snuggler yet independent and honestly just loved by all! He is so happy and friendly with everyone, I hope it never changes. He is still obsessed with baseball and wears a baseball uniform everyday, he adores Ryan and follows his every move and giggles with Emmy all the time. He has been exposed to so many experiences, movies, music, people, etc., that has made his mature beyond his years yet still so innocent, he is the best.

For his birthday we planned a baseball game at the park and invited ALL his friends! Even nana and papa came! It was his request to invite friends from school and all of his UC friends and their siblings.  Normally when you try and plan on event like that a lot of people can't make it but not for Owie - EVERYONE came! There were 45 people with kids ranging from 3-13 and they were all excited to be there to celebrate Owie and play a good old game of baseball. Its those days/memories we will all remember forever. I just hope he felt the love of everyone there because they all love his so much! :)

Birthday eve celebration after a long day of baseball/softball games

His favorite present - gum! For years now every time he asked for gum I said he has to be 5.

Josh wrangled all the kids and led the game the whole afternoon

At lunch Owen only wanted to eat with the big kids

Preschool buddies

I bought him a separate cupcake so he wouldn't blow on the cake but everyone crowded around
breathing on the cake anyway!

Happy Birthday O-dog

Opening Day 2022

Emmy (UC Del Sol Softball), Ryan (Tecolote baseball) and Owen (UC Little league t-ball) all had opening days on the same day. They all overlapped so Josh and I split up to watch games and enjoy the festivities.

Emmy has had the same softball coach for years - coach Perry. I say that with an eyeroll and laugh because we will remember him one day - he's one of a kind! But is excepting of the fact that Emmy never makes practice because of gymnastics and they always seen to have fun :)

Ryan is playing in a new very competitive league and is just crushing it, quite literally. Every time he's been up to bat, he's got a hit and make it home. He's been crushing doubles and triples and pitching like a pro. But most of all he's having fun and his coaches are top of the line both from experience, personality and encouragement. Its going to be a great season!

Owen is playing his second year of t-ball but you'd think he's been playing for decades. He rolled up to his first practice in a full Padres  uniform (which he actually wears every day to school so it was actually appropriate attire for once) and hit the balls so hard they had all the kids back up for safety reasons. He is on his best friend's Jackson's team whose dad happens to be an amazing photographer so lucky us - lots of pic this year!

Ready for practice!

Its hard to see but look at  him in his ready position

And all of the kids are standing around watching. Haha

All ready the night before - you think they are excited?!

Out the door at 7:40a

Best...Picture...ever

A big high five from coach! :)

Lots more fun baseball/softball weekend and pics to come!

Birthday Celebrations

We kicked off Emmy's birthday week in ORLANDO! Yes, us girls traveled across the country for a gymnastics week and had a BLAST! We got some good quality time together, Emmy hung with her friends, I read a whole book by the pool, we ate pizza 4 nights in a row and she KILLED it at the meet!

As close as we got to Mickey - no Disney for us this trip

Shopped until we dropped at Ron Jon Surf Shop

Emmy and her buddy Olivia

They wanted to swim in the Atlantic Ocean - it was freezing!

Pool day!

I lay by the pool...

While Emmy and her friends floated by in the lazy river all day long

It's called "slugging" you run vaseline all over your face before you go to bed. Its a Tik Tok trend so it must work right? Hahaha

Meet day! ESPN Sports Complex - big time!

Xcel Silver 2022

The gym was so cool!

Bars - 3rd!
Vault - 3rd!
Beam - 1st!
All around - 2nd!

So damn proud of her

We celebrated with drinks by the pool

And more laps around the lazy river :)

We experienced some what is probably typical travel due to weather (what do we know about weather?!) and after flying to Nashville, rerouting to Atlanta and then back to Nashville again - we made our flight to San Diego just in time! We got the last seats in the last row and ate sigh the whole 4.5 hour flight home - gold fish and sweedish fish :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

That right there is a teenager going to 7th grade on her bday

We finished her week long birthday celebration with a party with her friends. Shopping and ice skating at the mall
