5th Grade Promotion

What a year Emmy has had! She met a new great friend, kept close to her old ones, started a gymnastics team, had. REALLY hard and strict teacher and ended the year teaching herself the last few lessons of math. She is so smart, dictated, conscience, determined and focused - she even inspired me! She kept track of her own assignments and gave everyone her best, she learned everything (basically on her own) and wouldn't move on until she perfected it and got 100% on more than 1 math test with no help from anyone. I am so unbelievably proud of her - she rocked 5th grade and I can't wait to see what the future holds for her!

Normally Spreckels has a series of activities to celebrate the 5th grades, none of which happened this year. It was definitely little sad but she sure made the best of it and has been so mature understanding the seriousness of the situation and the responsibility we have to not only keep our family safe, both those around us.

We went to school to pick up her promotion certificate.

She received the presidential award for education excellence!

Last day of school!

All dressed up for her virtual promotion

Even Sadie was able to attend. Ha!

Now THAT is the look of a middle schooler (insert eye roll)

We headed over to the Conklins to celebrate. We went over there to meet Riley (and reconnect with Todd since we last saw him in the dorms 10 years ago!) a week before the girls started kindergarten (sniff, sniff)

Celebrating them all! Ryan and Reese made it through 2nd grade, virtually (they were in the same class) and Rowan kindergarten

Owen - always stealing the show

We rounded out the celebrations with a pool party at the DeWinter's pool. It was a fun few days and unfortunately, we haven't seen any of them since (boo). Hopefully we can spend more time with them  all outdoors again soon.

The fearless foursome - Audrey, Emmy, Riley and Luci

Palm Springs 2020

We rented a house in La Quinta, just on the other side of the golf course from where Marc and Kristen got married. We felt very guilt being there just a year later without any of our family.

We rented an amazing house with a pool and just hung out for 4 days - it was so awesome. The house was beautiful, we didn't have to work and we just spent time together. As always, it was hard to leave.

I won't bore anyone with interior pictures but this place was so pretty!

These kids sure know how to vacation!

Like a KING!

One of the benefits of online learning :)

Play hard - sleep hard!

It sure has been a long time since we've done a puzzle.

Sadie are about 8 pieces - little stinker.

And I actually read a book!

I think even Sadie enjoyed a change of scenery

This kid...

We also worked on our paint by numbers :)

It was a perfect backyard and a perfect view! I couldn't have asked for a better weekend.
Owen started swimming with no floaties! As soon as I can get videos posted again, I will share them. He was so proud of himself. And just like Emmy was - fearless!

Dramatic pic after a tiring bike ride

Emmy thought it was the greatest thing ever to have Owen on the front of the bike when she rode.

Until the next vacation.... :)
