What We've Been Up To

Our days are full of sports these days - basketball, softball, gymnastics and starting next week - baseball! We've exceeded my 2 sports at a time rule with Emmy so for 6 weeks we have 3 which is a bit too much for me but she's happy so that's all that matters.

We did get a nice weekend visit with Jill and Craig! And we squeezed in some other fun stuff along the way. I just keep reminding myself its a marathon, not a sprint, so settle in and embrace the chaos because it isn't going anywhere anytime soon!

Another Christmas! The kids got spoiled with so many cool presents!

Owen runs on the court every chance he gets

Ryan's basketball team got to play during half time at a USD game! Both William and Ryan scored a basket on the 10' rims which apparently had never been done in the years they've been invited to play. Go boys!

One of my favorite pics of all time. Ha!

Josh and Craig on the roof pondering our future remodel :)

Owen loves to be helpful. He and Craig set them table every night :)

More basketball!

When you guard your best friend you try to hold in your giggles

Dinner for 12! 4 adults, 8 kids was unexpectedly successful!

A glimpse of O-man at dinner. MONTER

Everyone else wears Masters Sports t-shirts, why can't I?

5P Friday nigh basketball game for Emmy, followed by a 9a basketball game for Ryan, followed by 10a softball assessments for Emmy, followed by 1:30p gymnastics clinic. That's a lot of sports in 24 hours!

These 4 amigos do everything together and are all on the same softball team! Which means lots of happy hours for the parents :)

GOOD NIGHT!

His favorite present from Grandma and Grandpa. He calls it his "ipad"

You'd think he was emailing his buddies or watching a YouTube video by the way he holds the thing.

Brunch date with these two

They baked banana bread aka "nana bread" all by themselves! They forgot the cinnamon and I am pretty sure they put in too much salt but they loved it so that's all that matters :)
They had a blast baking until I told them they also had to clean it up;)

I Hate Dinner

These days dinner is the most stressful time of the day. It’s a disasterous shit show every night. Not only will Owen not eat ANYTHING that I make for dinner (as he’s whining and hanging on my leg) he won’t sit in his chair, or on my lap or play he just screams and cried until we are all done eating. And just as we are finishing the last dish he grabs my face and says “snack” and “faffle” over  and over again until I make him a waffle that HE DOESNT EAT. I spend more time making this kid food he doesn’t eat, than anything else, so maybe he won’t wake up at 5a EVERY MORNING. How can this amazingly cute and funny and sweet little dude be such a MONSTER between 5p-8p every night? I thought witching hour was for babies? I keep reminding myself that (hopefully) one day I look back at this post and these dinners are a distant memory and all I remember is how much I love family my kiddos around the dinner table.

Bitter Sweet

Well, after 21 months and 3 weeks, I finally weened Owen. I loved nursing my kids, its sad to think he is no longer a baby and that I will never have that time with another child. Sniff sniff. I think we both miss our morning snuggles, especially him who points to the bed and says "boob". As sad as it was when your kid asks for your boob, I think it is time to take it away. Ha!

My big dude

We got to bring Owie on the shelf home with us!

At least he still likes to snuggle. Sometimes :)

Basketball Season!

Emmy and Ryan had their first basketball games this weekend. It was so much fun watching them both, I could not have been more proud! I continued to be amazed by their talent, commitment, confidence and aggressiveness! They were both on fire - Ryan dominating running the ball down the court and Emmy fighting to the ground, fowling out of the game. Ha! They both scored baskets too. It's going to be a fun season!

Keeping this guy contained in a gym is well, impossible. Good thing there is a park outside!

Strutting like a boss.

Wrestling the ball away from 4 people. Ha!

Not the best video but if you watch to the end she scores her first basket.

Holiday Break and New Years

The kids are back at school today after a 2 week break! We had lots of fun and were busy pretty much every second. Josh stayed with them the second week so of course they golfed and played lots of sports :)

Lots of slime making. Thanks, Nana!

We took Owen to Sea World for the first time! Along with everyone else from Southern CA. Thanks!

I was so excited to introduce Owen to Elmo but he was not having it. Although its been a week and he still says "Elmo and Cookie high five" :)

Clearly board but at least getting along. Haha

Annual New Years party  at the Conklins!

Riley and Reese LOVE Owen and the feeling is mutual.

Looking like a big kid playing Nintendo :)

11p.m.

Emmy slept over at Riley's with Luci and Audrey so we had the boys for a while on New Years Day

Buddy helped me cook dinner.

Lots of lego building.

They re-arranged their rooms.

And went to the driving range everyday

And met up with Jamie and Eva for a hike. Great way to start the new year!
