Celebrating the holiday season - San Diego Style

I wish time would slow down - how is it already the 10th?! We got our tree last weekend at good old home depot. We went when it was dark so we could at least wear sweatshirts :)

Owie is really into "Danta!"

Decorating was a bit of a disaster this year. Ha! Lesson learned - do not try and cook dinner and decorate a tree with a toddler and dog around

My attempt at a family pic

Saturday night we went with the Conklins to watch the parade of lights. On Mission Bay. Which was a much more enjoyable experience than our trip to San Diego Bay two years ago ;) And we got a sitter for Owen which was probably the smartest, safest and driest decision I've ever made.

Yesterday we went ice skating at Liberty Station. I have to say Emmy is an excellent skater, especially considering we live at the beach. Ryan, who wants to master everything, kept saying he needs to take lessons. I said Buddy you don't have to be good at everything!

Our Little Monster

Owen is approaching 21 months (sniff, sniff) and is a MONSTER! I mean he is into everything. He's a climber, a screamer, a hitter and is the most determined out of all the kids. He gets PISSED when he doesn't get his way - screaming, hitting, throwing himself backwards, etc. He tries to keep up with the kids all the time and gets so frustrated when he isn't included. Yes, he is the sweetest, happiest guy who screams each of our names, running over with hugs, every morning. He waves bye and yells out the window as we drop the kids off at school, is the only kid who actually plays with Sadie and will look at you patting the seat next to him saying "sit!". Poor little dude took a nasty spill last weekend which sent us to urgent care at 8a for stitches. Somehow I don't think this will be the last time....

Poor little guy was such a trooper

And was smiling by lunch

His face is prominently featured in the lobby of his school.

The cutest!

You cannot turn your back on this guy for a second!

Wrapping up the soccer season

I am so proud of both Ryan and Emmy, they played an awesome season! Emmy surprised us the most, she's turning into quite the athlete. She tried out and made the all star team! And Josh was asked to coach alongside one of the club team coaches. It was let's say, interesting, all star weekend full of lack of communication, drama and disorganization :) Emmy had fun but I think Josh is glad it is over. Ha! All in all it was another good all star experience for Emmy, she's been playing hard and meeting lots of new friends from the other elementary school. Now on to basketball!
