Owen has been really into the race track. He sits in the middle of it! haha
First hair cut! He has weird hair growing over his ears :)
Handsome dude

Me and buddy had a lunch date last weekend. He picked taco bell (gross) and was so excited to get nachos supreme, he ate every bite with a spoon (double gross)
Emmy was the super star student this week along with her buddy Luci
"Problem solver"
Owen's 1 year appt. Such a big dude. 23 lbs 4 oz. I forget his height but it was short. Haha
My littlest man is one! How did that happen?! I tried really hard to cherish every moment, stop and enjoy,
be present and patient and document with a million pictures of the first year
of my last baby. We’ve had our challenges with sleep (or lack thereof) but Owen
makes us all so happy and is just always smiling, at everyone.
I think Owen is going to be our wild child. He is determined
and stubborn, loud and voices his opinions, is curious and gets into
EVERYTHING. He giggles when you say no and continues to do whatever he was
doing anyway. Yet he is the cutest, happiest little guy who loves music, his
brother and sister and dog. He’s started to follow Emmy and Ryan more and more
and claps his hands when he sees them playing and then crawls right into the
middle of things.
He doesn’t sleep. At all. He hates it, starts fussing the
minute you walk near his crib. When he wakes up he is up sitting in less than 3
seconds. Its as if he avoids it at any cost.
A few of his favorite things:
- My boob pads. Literally, yanks them out of my shirt and then him and Sadie proceed to fight over it.
- He loves when we sing "if you are happy and you know it". Emmy sings it to him whenever he fusses and he stops. He even claps his hands to the beat at the right time.
- He is obsessed with climbing the stairs
- He's recently started to like the big legos and is so proud when he puts them together. He already needs to be challenged to be kept busy!
- His favorite book is "I wrote to a zoo to send me a pet". He gets so excited when I pull it out
- He loves Sesame Street! Well, at least the theme song :) He flaps his arms and claps every time. He also has this new dance move when he leans forward and shakes his head. No joke.
We had a little family birthday celebration for him on Sunday. We had back-to-back softball/baseball games on Monday and Tuesday so we ate lots of sugar early. I took the day off to hang with him on Tuesday, like I've done with all the kiddos, our special day :) Although, I took him down to the children's museum only to learn it is closed on Tuesdays. So we just spent some quality time together :)
We decorated the house with balloons and sesame street characters that hung from the ceiling. He LOVED it! Got all excited to pull on Elmo. The kids were so excited too. I think that is what has been so fun, to watch them love him so much :)
I could not love him more!
Our first birthday fail with Emmy was we put a candle in front of her to grab. Our birthday fail with Owen was that we let him eat the candle. Literally took a bite out of it and we had to fish it out of his mouth!
Emmy spent so much time wrapping this present for him. So sweet.
I re-wrapped some toys from the garage (shhh) we have to many! This has been in our garage for years. The kids always wanted me to bring it out and I always said no. I don't know who was more excited to climb in this thing and throw balls around. Ha!
Saturday was opening day for Ryan. It was a beautiful weekend except for the hour we were all standing on the field for opening day. It was POURING! Most people weren't even prepared with umbrellas and all the kids got soaked and them proceeded to play in the huge mud muddles that formed on the baseball diamond. It was a disaster and fun all at the same time. Thank God Owen fell asleep so I could keep him dry in the stroller. And literally as soon as it was over the sun came out. Go figure.
Ryan is playing on MAPS this year. Which is a step up from tee ball and technically for 6-8 year olds. Our neighbor across the street is on his team too which is fun. He isn't on William or Alex's team which is actually fun - they will get to play each other all the time since there are only 3 teams. Ryan was asked to represent MAPS at the opening ceremony and say the little league pledge. He looked so little up there next to the older kids but so cute. He did a great job! Not shy at all even though he said he was nervous. So proud of the little guy.
We were scheduled to be at the field for 7 hours again both Emmy's games (she had 2) and Ryan's first game were all cancelled. Looking forward to seeing him play next week! :)
We've been spending a lot of time with Audrey and William these days! Emmy and Audrey were FAST friends after they moved here last year. They are like two peas in a pod. Both strong, independent, athletic, a bit tom boyish and don't give a shit. I love it. William is in Ryan's class this year so of course they became best buddies right away too! They both love sports and are really good not-annoying brothers who get along well with everyone. So now they all come as pairs and all get along great. And their mom is due with a little girl in June so she inherited every piece of baby gear we own :) Hopefully they all stay buddies for many years to come, they are all awesome little kiddos.
Lunch date
Photo bombing their sisters. They get to watch the games together every weekend!
