5th Birthday Weekend

We just celebrated Ry-guy's birthday for 3 days straight! He was spoiled with birthday wishes and presents from family and friends and had a very special visit from Uncle Marc! After opening presents (at 7am) we all played hookie on Friday and headed down to the bay to paddle board ad kayak. We avoided the bay for so many years and now have a blast every time we go! Ryan got in some quality kayak and football time with Marc and Josh and Owen finally dipped his fat toes in the water.
This is the first year we officially had a birthday party for Ryan and he wanted it at the beach. We invited a lot of his buddies from Baldwin and some other family friends, it was so FUN! I love watching him play with his buddies and of course his main squeeze Quinn was there, never leaving his side. They really are the sweetest. Emmy got to hang with Riley and Owen was an angel as always. It was a super fun weekend celebrating my little buddy and just how amazing he is :)

Early bday present from Nana and Papa. Legos! He loves building vehicles and has been doing great with even the littlest of pieces. Him and Marc stayed up until he finished the whole thing

Happy birthday to my main dude!

Who is ready for some football!

Look at those thunder thighs!

 Everyone was toast by 8:30p

Gorilla Biscuits for life. A little hand-me-down from Ryan, original gift from Uncle Marc

Owen TV is the BEST

The only thing I love more than these 3 is how much they love each other

Josh, Marc, Emmy and Ryan headed down to the beach at 8a to grab a good spot.

Ryan's buddy Jake "Look a snow angel!". You know you live in SD when the only angels you've made are in the sand :)

They constantly pose like a teenage couple - cracks me up

Emmy and Riley have been getting really brave this summer - they've been tackling some big waves!

Ryan and Jacob :)

O-man just taking one of his beach snoozes

Happy Birthday buddy! We hope you had as much fun as we did!

Buddy is 5!!!!!

My little buddy is turning 5. I don't know why 5 seems like such a monumental birthday. Maybe because he is a "kid" and not a toddler or maybe because he is starting kindergarten? Regardless, he is growing up too fast. He has grown up so much over the last 6 months. He's gone over to both old and new friends houses alone, has started to really sound out and read words when we are reading (which he thinks is the most exciting thing ever! He giggles every time he reads the word "but" out loud), he stands up for himself to Emmy (whether she likes it or not), has become so much more adventurous and his athletic skills just continue to improve (he is good at EVERYTHING!). Yet, he remains the sweetest, most sensitive little guy who loves to snuggle and loves his family and friends. I just hope he stays that way, sweet and caring, and teaches Owen to do the same. I love my buddy baroo-ski-rama and hope he has so much fun during our weekend of festivities!

Weekend

I guess my posts will now be weekend updates again instead of week... Trying to live up the summer still! We had a pretty mellow Saturday and pulled out the slip and slide in the afternoon. We have some relatively new neighbors a few doors down who have a 18 month old and 7 week old! Owen will now have a buddy to grow up with :) Peter, Anglie, Joaquin and Emil cruised over and ended up staying for dinner along with another set of new neighbors with their some Brody. Lots of families in our hood now - Love it!

Sunday morning Emmy and I has some time together while we walked Owen  and Sadie. Then I dropped Emmy and Sadie off and continued on a run with Owen. BAM - killed 4 birds with one stone - Got some 1:1 time with Emmy, Owen napped, Sadie got out and I got some exercise. Now that is an efficient morning :) Then we met the Santoros at the bay for another Sunday Funday. We are becoming master beach goers wrangling 3 kids, a paddle board, kayak and wagon full of shit :)

We started putting Owen in the highchair when we eat dinner. He loves it! But then again he loves everything :)

First slide ride. I can't believe how long this playset has lasted us

A few of the neighborhood boys

Emmy is really into dressing like me these days. So cute. I am taking it all in because I know one day she isn't going to want anything to do with me...

Ryan is a master kayaker!

This little guy traveled to the beach in one of our beach chairs.

This is the life

He's so fat you can't even see his diaper!
