Fun with the kiddos

I was lucky to be able to spend some one-on-one time these past few days with Emmy and Ryan and their buddies!

Saturday I took Emmy and two of her friends out to lunch and build-a-bear (to further her obsession with stuffed animals) for her birthday. What are the chances that her and her two friends all LOVE PF Changs and can all eat with chop sticks? Listening to them chat in the car and sing and dance to songs was the highlight of my weekend. They were so cute and so grown up!!

The 3 amigos - Riley, Zana and Emmy

Before I know it, they will be tweens at the mall.

They spent a sold 30 minutes picking out clothes for their bears. I got stuck hanging up bear clothes (Yes, mom pay back is a bitch)

It isn't a day of fun without a trip to Ritas!!!

Sunday Emmy went to Lia's house to play so me and Ryan headed down to the beach for a run/bike ride

We didn't make it too far and stopped for ice cream instead :)

Picnic!

Today I took the morning off of work to go with Ryan and his class on a field trip to the new Kid Ventures. It was so fun! I love watching him with his buddies and his teachers. They clearly have a blast all the time.

Seven Years Old!

Seven years old! Emmy is one amazing little girl. She is so adventurous, funny, smart, sweet, strong-willed, confident yet shy, strong yet sensitive and loving. I think I’ve found the biggest change in her this year – she’s no longer a little girl, she is growing up. And fast! She’s one of the tallest kids in her class (which says a lot considering she is in a 1/2 split)! She’s rapidly approaching that phase when she’d rather spend time with her friends on the weekends than us. Yet, she still wants me to snuggle with her at night. She is very strong-willed and listens to me half the time (okay let’s be honest maybe 25% of the time) but when she knows she’s really done something wrong she bursts into tears. She wants to do her own thing but is still very much a pleaser. It is fun to see her personality develop and I honestly enjoy just hanging out with her. She will always be my monkey and I am so lucky to have her!

We had a fun day yesterday filled with presents and sweet treats and a new bike! We tried to make it a surprise but Ry guy blew the whole thing :)

Her two favorite things - bacon and cinnamon rolls

 A new cruiser!

I've never seen a kid so excited over markers. We've been watching the infomercial for months. She was so excited!

Last Weekend as a 6 Year Old!

I am all about having fun these weekends. We work so damn hard during the weeks, the weekends is the only thing that keeps me going sometimes. All I want to do is just spend time together. Sadie loves us being home too! The beautiful weather continues to motivate us to be outside! Friday night we went to the globetrotters. Can you believe they are celebrating their 90th year?! Ryan LOVED it. His little hands must have been sore because he clapped the whole time. Emmy didn’t originally want to go but had so much fun she didn’t want to leave. It was pretty entertaining.

Saturday we ALL played tennis! We trapped the kids and dog in the court – it was perfect. Sadie chewd a bone and the kids played tennis with us then rode their bikes around the court while Josh and I actually played. It was a blast. Saturday night we went to Peter and Gretchen’s for dinner and hung out with cute, chubby Olivia.

Sunday we had a lemonade stand! Emmy had the idea in the morning so we worked on making the sign then we rode out bikes to the square to buy lemonade to make. We set it all up on the driveway. It was super cute and actually got some neighbors out! We will definitely do it again and offer beer to the parents :)

Love it! He came home and started throwing his blanket around his back :)

Tennis for EVERYONE!

Sadies first raw hide bone which she proceeded to puke up all night.

They could not have been any sweeter with Olivia.

This kid wants to snuggle - constantly.

The lemonade stand was an all day affair

I told Ryan to leave his helmet outside with Josh and Emmy. He said but the motor cycle men carry their helmets in the store.

Lemonade and Dog Bones!

Tie her up, give her a bone, and she's a happy camper. For a little while anyway :)
