First Grade!

Emmy finally went back to school on Tuesday! The first day, and week for that matter, was a whole different experience than last year. She is in a class with some buddies, knew lots of friends, was confident and knew exactly what to do and where to go. She is in a 1st/2nd grade combo which I was a little hesitant about but she hasn't even said a word.

I made my first mistake early on and volunteered for a role on the PTA. With all my spare time, I' am coordinating 12 after school enrichment programs. Not the smartest decision I've ever made.

I can't believe how fast my little monkey is growing up. She is smart, confident, strong and fearless!

Homework on the first night. Seriously?! Pretty cute though.

Disneyland 2015 - Day 2

Day two started a little later. We (Josh and I) didn't sleep too well is our musty hotel room. Cheap hotel rooms are cheap for a reason. Lesson learned. We headed to California Adventure to meet Lightening McQueen!

Cars land was so cool. It was built after we were there 3 years ago, they did such a good job and Ryan was in heaven.

"Look! It's Lightening McQueen!"

We had to stop and taken pictures with everyone

Somehow we were able to sneak Ryan onto the Lightning McQueen ride. You have to be 40" and he is almost that with his shoes on. They were pretty strict but Ryan just cruised by and no one noticed!

It was so FUN!

Emmy was dying to ride the ferris wheel. You could see it from out hotel (the one good thing the hotel had going for it). I pondered going with her for about 5 minutes until I saw the cages swinging around and just about had a heart attach. Thank goodness Josh is as fearless and Emmy.

They looped around twice! I thought maybe she'd some down crying and clutching Josh but instead I got a toothless smile and a wave.

Me and Ry-guy stayed on land.

Another parade :)

We had a fun few days full of rides, characters, laughs, screams, ice cream. tons of bacon and fun!

Disneyland 2015 - Day 1

Last time we were at Disneyland was 3 1/2 years ago for Emmy's 3rd bday so we thought we'd take Ryan for his. We had a blast!  They are at such fun ages. Last time we were there we were chasing down princesses and this time we were o the look out for lightening McQueen. You almost forget just how cool Disneyland is until you go - every 3-5 years...

We made a few major mistakes within the first 10 minutes. Don't ever take a kid who frightens easily on the Pinocchio ride and never leave anything irreplaceable in the stroller. After Ryan recovered from his traumatic experience on his first ride and Josh hunted down the stroller after someone accidentally took it along with Ryan's blanket, we were on our way to having fun!

(3 1/2 years ago :)

It's a small world - happiness threw up on that ride. It as a safe bet after Pinnocio

I have never eaten so much ice cream as we did last week. These sundaes came with two cookies, seriously?

Done.

And done.

But back for more.

We showed up to the light parade 1 hour early and still the only spot left was in front of the garbage cans.

The light parade was so awesome!

And so were the fireworks!

You can't tell from the picture but when the let it go song came on it actually snowed. It is no wonder it costs a million dollars to take your family to Disnyland!

 Then onto Day 2...
