Emmy Post

I figure I am going to be posting lots of pictures and updates on baby brother coming up soon so I am going to write a whole post just about Emmy.  She is the funniest, coolest, smartest, most amazing little girl who is growing up so fast.  She is full of personality and is so friendly, willing to try anything and seems to never be shy in any situation.  A list of what she is up to these days.

1. She absolutely LOVES school.  Saturday morning she said "Mama am I going to school today?".  "Not today, it is Saturday".  "Oh man, but I love my friends at school".  Every time we drive by a "big kid" school she asks if she can go, the kid can't wait to go to kindergarten.  Hopefully that won't change :)

2. She loves swimming lessons too!  She "practices" at home, kicks and moves her arms in her bed to swim up to her pillow.  She usually has her suit on by 9am, her class is not until 10:30a.

3. Her favorite song is "Somebody" by Goyte - you know the one that is always playing on the radio?  She can sing he whole thing.

4. She is obsessed with popsicles but her favorite food right now is french toast.  We make it every Saturday morning.  She also loves going to jamba juice.  Obviously she loves the juice but I think she really just loves the whole experience.  Whenever she convinces me to take her after school (which is often) she will say "let's sit mommy" so we grab a seat and chat about our day.  I think it is like her happy hour :)

5. She has a crazy memory and sense of direction.  Sometimes I wonder if she has a degree of a photographic memory.  We could be driving someone we haven't been for a year and she will remember exactly where we are and can recite every detail of the time we went to the destination.  The other day we went swimming with baby Sophia who was wearing one of her suits she wore before she was 1 year old.  "Hey that was my suit?!"

6. She can count to 40 and write probably 15 different letters and can write her name.

7. "Mama I have to go poo poo.  Wait, no, I just had to fart".

8. She is a beautiful dancer and loves music.  She can also play catch, hit a golf ball and whack a whiffle ball with a tennis racket across the whole backyard.  I think she is going to be both a performer and an athlete.

9. We have slowly but surely watching every fraggle rock episode that was ever produced thanks to Uncle Marc!

10. She likes to take pictures of her babies with her camera.  Wonder where she learned that from? :)

11.  She pretends to call her friends on her phone and ends each call with "love you".

12.  Josh has grown his beard out again and this is what Emmy had to say about it.  "Daddy you have mustache all over your face."  "What you don't like it?"  "No you need to shave it".

You can't let a little sand in your mouth ruin your day!

Emmy made herself at home at Josh's desk with her own computer.

Josh's new project obsession - his vegetable garden!

Last day of work!

Today was my last day of work, I am now officially on maternity leave!  Not sure if I could have made it much longer, feeling so big and sitting in the office all day was getting pretty tough.  Hoping to have a least a few days at home before baby brother arrives but we'll see how the next week goes!

Whoa belly!

Weekend Pics

Another wonderful weekend in San Diego!  A BBQ at Mark and Anna's and pool time in the backyard!

Emmy and Ava just so happen to have the same bathing suit!  Gave Mark and Anna a little peak at what life is going to be like with twin girls!!

Emmy was very sweet with the babies.  Hopefully she'll be that sweet with baby brother!

Cute little buddies

Emmy has been bugging us to buy her some goggles so we finally did.  Oh and she wore them in the tub too :)

4th of July

We had a fun and very busy holiday this year.  It was strange that it fell on a Wednesday but the worst part was that it was so cold and gloomy it was practically raining!  We tried to be troopers and head down to the beach anyway but ended up coming home.  Plan B was sea world!  Then we headed over to friends for dinner.  Emmy goes to school with Van who happens to be best buds with Finn too!  They all had a blast and are so cute together.

Van and Emmy stripping down and jumping in the spa was too funny to even put into words!  Despite the fact they could touch the bottom very easily around the whole thing, Emmy insisted on swimming from side to side so basically we were pulling her up every minute since she doesn't know how to swim yet.  That kid sure is determined to learn!

The Olympics

The count down is on until the 2012 Olympics!  I love the Olympics and always have.  There is something about watching these amazingly talented people who are so dedicated to their sport compete.  Last week we started watching the trials and now Emmy is hooked too!  We recorded them to watch the next day so have watched Phelps swim like 15 times.  And of course the gymnastics :)  We started to watch the track and field until Emmy started running around the house at like 8:30p so we thought we should take one sport at a time.
