These past week(s) have been pretty crazy, so I am finally posting some pics from Emmy's big b-day! Didn't exactly turn out as we expected, but we still had fun. Emmy woke up the night before with a fever to go along with her already snotty nose and horrible cough, so instead of lego land we headed to the doctor... again... Fortunately, she actually likes going to the doctor!
After her nap we opened presents and then headed to Sea World for an hour and finished the day with pizza for dinner. Emmy is very into Barney right now, it is more of an obsession. Since no one really watches Barney anymore, it is tough to find paraphernalia. I had to order her some books on ebay and they look to be able 20 years old! A few have already fallen apart! All in all we had a fun day :)
New Barney Friend
Ready for Sea World!
A gift from Aunti Julie - a doctors set! I don't know what is more shocking, the fact that she knows how to use a stethoscope or that she is so obsessed with Barney!

Happy Birthday Monkey!
I cannot believe my sweet, baby girl is now 2. Watching her grow before my eyes has been the most precious moments of my life. I cannot imagine what life would be like without her smiling face, hugs and affection and joy for life. She is my everything. There is nothing in the world that is more fun than watching her dance and jump, listening to her say new words and sing new songs, and getting her big hugs and kisses. She is the sweetest, friendliest, funniest, smartest affectionate little girl and nothing means more to me than being able to call her my daughter. I love you so much monkey!!
The moment she stole my heart....
To honor our b-day tradition, Josh and I are taking the day off of work so we can spend the whole day together!

Long Weekend
We had a great 3-day weekend! My uncle was in town from Toronto for a convention so my parents came down for a few days. We ate and drank lots and had lots of fun with our little monkey who is turning 2 this week!
Cruising the hood in her rain boots
A beautiful rainbow. For everyone in my family who understands what this means, it was a double rainbow...
Checking each other out
Emmy is 2 going on 20, reads the newspaper and drinks her water "coffee" from a coffee cup!
We have quite the artist on our hands.

Update
Well, Emmy is finally feeling better. Thank God my mom was able to come down last week and help me out while Josh was out of town. Unfortunately, Josh came home yesterday from his trip and now he is sick too!
Emmy and I headed over to Sea World Saturday at met up with Anne and Finn. The two of them mimic everything each other does, it is pretty funny. They had a ton of fun, Sea World is awesome :)
Emmy literally almost lost her shoe in the Penguin water!

Appreciate your family living near
We had another great weekend until the second half of the Super Bowl. We went to Mark and Anna's to watch the game and Emmy started complaining about her tummy hurting and by the time we left she was wining and had a fever of 102.5. I am pretty sure it is the flu. I have a lot of overwhelming things going on at work right now and Josh is going out of town first thing Wednesday morning, making it a very difficult time for both of us to take off of work. Emmy is our #1 priority so of course we will stay at home with her no matter what, but we would give anything to have a family member in town to help us out in situations like these.... So, if you have family in town who are kind enough to help you out from time to time - thank and appreciate them often!!!

We woke up Monday morning and....
Emmy has pick eye! The poor thing's eyes were crusted shut. It took about 10 minutes to wash it off enough for her to open her eyes, the poor thing was crying the whole time. Josh stayed home with her yesterday and took her to the doctor. In addition to the pink eye, she had another issue going on.... I'd repeat the story but Emmy would never forgive me if she reads this one day. Let's just say Josh gets Daddy of the year award again when I received the most hysterical text update from the doctor's office. I am staying home with her today, which I gladly do any day of the week. I just wish she didn't have to be sick for me to be able to spend the day with her.. She seems to be feeling okay but her left eye is nasty. I almost could not eat my dinner last night.....
So, I spent my Sunday planning for the week, but I guess you can't anticipate everything!
