Family Trip Part 2

Friday Emmy and I flew up to Northern California to see Josh's fam and to celebrate Josh's b-day! I survived 2 flights with Emmy sitting on my lap but will never do it again. I can barely fit in those seat let alone 2 of us! We stayed at Zach and Amy's in Sonoma where they live in a kid's wonderland! So much space, so many toys, so little time! We spent Saturday with 27 or so of Josh's family members, 8 of which were kids under the age of 5. Busy, busy! Emmy loved spending time with her cousins and was Dylan's little shadow, it was so cute. We had to much fun and I took some of the best pictures of things you'd never expect an 19 month of to do...

Just cruising around the background with Dylan in his car, no big deal....

Making everyone wait their turn on the slip and slide, including Daddy who was all lined up for his turn with all the kids :)

That is a lot of cousins!

More Dylan time

Learning to drive at 19 months, we are in TROUBLE

Family Trip Part 1

Josh and I planned a week full of family time last week. We love to make our lives complicated so tried to see everyone in the same week! We started the first lag of the trip by stopping at my parents house to see my brother who was visiting from NY and to celebrate his b-day. Josh left the next day to help his parents move their antique store and Emmy and I hang around a few days.

Meeting Lucy. It took Emmy a few days to get used to Lucy constantly licking her face and for Lucy to get used to having to share my mom's attention with someone else!

So much love

Lazy Baking

Well, I guess I wouldn't necessarily call myself lazy considering I sometimes can't believe I ever consider baking after the hectic work/home days I have been having! Emmy is eating so much food these days it is tough to keep enough nutritious snacks around. I don't have time these days to bake everything from scratch but I have figured out a way to modify the bought stuff. I have been buying the Betty Crocker blueberry muffin mix but adding fresh blueberries. I also throw in about 1/2 cup of oatmeal (I add a little extra milk so it is not dry) and use apple sauce instead of the oil. Voila! I didn't have to make the muffins from scratch but I still added some nutritious ingredients. Tonight I actually baked banana bread from scratch and was reminded of how much easier, and how many less dishes there are, when I follow my "lazy recipe"!

Good Bye and Good Luck!

We were introduced to Jessica back in February when I had to start going back into the office on Wednesdays. She has looked after Emmy every Wednesday since and has been amazing! We could not have asked for a better situation or person to come into our lives to look after our little monkey. Unfortunately, the time has come for Jessica to move on and we are going to miss her!

Just some pics

Daddy's little girl.

Playing with her babies, her favorite thing to do!

Spaghetti! Loves it!
(I swear she opens her mouth this wide for every bite of food)

Say it ain't so...

It is official, Emmy has hit the "terrible twos" 6 months early. We had a pretty rough afternoon. As I described to my mom, it was as if it wasn't my daughter I was dealing with. I will not bore anyone with the details (mostly because I don't want anyone to judge me or my daughter!) but let me tell you that it is a good thing it is cold out already because I am going to have to wear a turtle neck to work tomorrow. I will leave you with that....

Day the the Races!

Today the office planned an agency day at the races. Since I could not find a sitter this afternoon and Josh wasn't going to be home, I brought her with me :) I got her all decked out in a dress and hat and she could not have looked cuter, the pictures don't even do her justice. I know she is my daughter so of course I think she is beautiful but I am telling you - she is BEAUTIFUL! After walking about 1/2 mile through the parking lot carrying Emmy, she was very excited to see the horses!
