The start of a new era

After 10+ years of gymnastics and 5 years competing, Emmy made the difficult decision to quit gymnastics. It was a very bittersweet moment. I am not going to lie, I was sad but would never tell her that. I LOVED watching Emmy compete. Her mental and physical strength and confidence to get up there in front of all those people never ceased to amaze me. I loved celebrating just Emmy up there, and I loved, even more, the endless hours we spent in the car together and the trips we were fortunate enough to take all over the country. I am going to miss those times more than anything. Hopefully, one day, when she reads this, she will know how much I supported her gymnastics career!

Now onto a new era! Emmy joined the high school field hockey team and really loves the sport and being part of a high school team. I mean so she Canadian blood so a love of hockey isn't shocking, it just happens to be on a field instead of ice. AHAHA. She is building endurance and skill and making a lot of new friends along the way. Her competitiveness and determination has really come out. She has practice every day, and she's been doing an excellent job managing all her advanced classes simultaneously. She is the starting forward and was one of 5 guys picked for 3 shootouts during their first tournament! I could not be more proud of her for trying something new and excited for this new era of sports!

Start of the school year!

We've got a 2nd grader, 7th grader and 10th grader in the house! All three kids have had a great start to the new school year! Emmy and Ryan continue to impress me with their time management skills, study habits and dedication to getting good grades. Emmy's got a jam-packed schedule full of AP classes! Even though he never wants to go to school, Owen continues to have a good attitude and was nominated by his peers for the first superstar of the year!

Traditional first day of school pics!

Ryan got picked up by the Conki

Emmy rode her bike to school

Luckily I still got to walk this guy into school!
Owen with Mabel and Jackson

Owen is excited he and Miles are in the same class this year!

Summer 2024 - the year of the remodel!

It's been 5+ years in the works but this year was the year for our remodel! We'd thought through plans, and then changed them again and waited 12 years for our permits and then finally we started! We we so fortunate to be able to rent Erin's mom's house around the corner for 4 months. Not sure how all five of us plus Sadie would've survived living through it while working from home!

We created a new master downstairs that includes a full bathroom and walk in closet :)

We split our old room so the boys now have their own

We created a "nook" to dump everyone's stuff

Created a new office space for me

We made some updates to the kitchen, including a new pantry! New backsplash, fresh paint, a gas stove/oven (finally!) and new garnite

Everything got a new fresh coat of paint, carpet, lighting and fans. We could not be happier with all of the decisions and changes we made :)

The starting of our new master!

The boys are getting their own rooms!

Finished pics - from various stages of moving back in...

Ryan is 12!

Ryan's birthday happened to be the last day of summer this year (boo) so we celebrated the days leading up to the big and spent his actual birthday at the beach!

We took Will and Zach with us to Benihana and then went bowling at SDSU it was a blast! Then they both slept over :)

Sleep overs = tired kiddos

Ryan-guy continues to be the sweetest, most chill kid. He is super organized, and it is the furthest thing from a procrastinator - he does all the hard things first all the time. He is a comfort zone kid but learning to push himself and try new things. He is smart and athletic but so humble. He is going places in this world and I can't wait to see what he continues to do! I love you buddy!

2024 All Star Season

This summer was the wildest one yet, but oh so fun! After a few years of patience and work Ryan made the 11u red all star team which is quite an accomplishment and honor. They are the most elite players at Tecolote and Ryan was PUMPED to be drafted for the team!

After only one season at Tecolote, Owen made the 7u blue all-star team despite being small and one of the youngest in the division! He was so proud to be drafted, and we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into.

Tournament #1 - Ramona

11 games in 3 days = delirious

To everyone's surprise and for the first time in history the 7u blue team BEAT the 7u red team to WIN the whole tournament! The kid one his first ring at 7.

Ry-guy started his all-star season with the team's first HOME RUN!

After a delay, they finished their last game at 9:30p Sunday night and had school the next morning!

Another ring for the Lawrences!

 Redondo Beach Tournament:
Owen's coach decided to sign them up for a last minute tournament in LA over father's day (insert eye roll). He traveled further for a game than Ryan ever had! They played in an 8u tournament and got smoked but at least they only had to play 3 games!

Dirty kid

Sectionals at Tecolote - Ryan's team won the whole thing!

Tournament #5: Pinto sections in Fallbrook
When its hot you wear wet rags! Haha

We also got to watch Ryan's (and Owen's) bestest bud Zach play on the 12u team

Ryan has become great friends with his teammates!

So did Owen, he got to hang out with his buddy Carter and his family at a Padres game, only VIP for this kid!

Regionals in San Marcos - Ryan's team won AGAIN! They got to skip super region and go straight to zone!

Sectionals at Tecolote - Owen's team was runner-up!

New baseball do

Squeezed in a cutternation double-header one Friday night because God forbid we have a night off. Haha

For our final weekend of All stars we headed north to LA! Ryan played in Walnut and Owen 45 mins east in Moreno Valley.

First game - Ryan's team played the only team who has beaten then in an earlier tournament and they won! Ryan pitched and I just about had an anxiety attach watching.

Lunch for 34! Naturally Owen makes himself right at home among Ryan's friends.

Waiting to head to the fields!

Coach Johnny drove the boys in his "Tacos van"

Lots of ruckus in the rooms!

My handsome dude

Owen made buddies with Baer's brother, they were so cute :)

Supportive sister of the year right there

On our way to Owen's game - IT WAS 109 and hot as SHIT

Cooling off before his game

Owen's team played Tec red in the first playoff game and was tied going into the 5th inning and then lost by 3. What a season these boys had!

Ryan-guys team played their biggest rival and also held then for 5 innings and then lost 4-2. It was s pretty crushing loss for these boys - their last chance of making it to the world series :( Placentia went on to beat every international team by a 7+ runs a game so Tecolote sure gave that team a run for their money!

His #1 FAN!

After 45 practices and 55 games in 8 weeks, the season came to a bittersweet end, and these boys were exhausted!
